Tiling large, flat surfaces isn't too difficult - BUT, throw in awkward bits such as working round pipes, sinks, or walls that aren't flat - and then you can have a lot of fun.

Also, it's advisable to get good quality grout and sealant, etc.  Microban stuff isn't cheap, but the good stuff tends to have it (recommended by my tiler), and it withstands mould and discolouration over time.

You deffo need to spend the extra money on good adhesive and grout.

It's not too difficult if you have the right tools and the floors/walls are level.  Cuts around pipes and that can be done using tile 'nips' or a wee grinder.  Just use a pencil to draw out what you want removed from the tile first, follow the lines and you'll be grand.

My husband is a tiler, but there's a bit of a distance from County Cork to you.   rotflmfao

its all about the grout, you can tile a room perfectly flat, square, level, perfect spacing but grout it bad and it will look shit.

I no longer partake in DIY chores due to a slight misunderstanding between my wife and myself over whether the electricity was on or off whilst I was wiring an outside security light to the mains.

Fall outs during the bathroom DIY went unnoticed by one party IMO.   rotflmfao
