MissHoolie wins 355 chips from side pot with a straight, nine high [ 9s, 8d, 7h, 6d, 5s ]
zavinac wins 355 chips from side pot with a straight, nine high [ 9s, 8d, 7h, 6d, 5s ]

Ok first of all did I play the hand badly?

My thoughts were I was possibly ahead on the turn as I had put them both on premium hands but was reluctant to raise with an open ended straight and hoped to see the river as cheap as possible.

Secondly does it not look like Serj63 is making a steal as he is last to act? Mateyboy 2s reraise was a bit baffling but I wasnt going to fold for another 355.

Would you call here?

Don't think I really like the call, I'm not  a fan of calling bets for a split pot unless it's the nuts on the board, but I think you played it ok prior to that, just a crappy board for you.

Ive been left kicking myself a few times lately when the exact same thing has happened, I fold and muppet boy flashes me 72o or something silly which is why I asked.

I didnt like the call either but really didnt think he had a 10 so took a chance, can you really fold everytime someone does this?

I would fold the river, here villian isn't just bluffing you off the chop but another player which decreases the likelihood of him doing this without the 10.

In a heads up pot this might well be close as they aren't many 10's in his range.

Given stacks i would be tempted to shove the flop with the oesd and 2nd pair.

I did consider shoving on the flop but it was very early in the game and I didnt want to go out on a drawing hand, I dont think matey was going away with his queens and would probably have reraised...if he had put me allin do I call?

its a good flop for you and yes i push the flop. agree though hard to fold for 355 on the river with so much invested even though it looks ur beat.

for all u know ur 77 might of been ahead on the flop, they may had ak aq? if not you got plenty outs.

you were unlucky the board came so nasty

early in a "deepish" stack tourney with a mid pair and facing a mid position 4.5x raise and call (and also with an early limper still to act) I am looking at a fold here.

Having called however, and getting a flop like that I need to use my position to my advantage and raise, to hopefully isolate to one opponent.

this is all based on having no information on my opponents.

why? it's about 6% of your stack and importantly you're capping the betting so you know the cost and know it'll be 3 handed. this is a perfect position early on to take a little gamble setmining, at least one of the other 2 is likely to have a good hand here and so will pay you off if you hit and if you miss it's cost you relatively little. spots like this are golden in tourneys

If we cant hit the set this is about the perfect flop otherwise. Paying 500 out of our 3700 stack is too much to hit 8 of 47 cards, even then were not over the moon with a diamond, so really 6 of 47 cards.  Give yourself a couple of chances to win, get it all in now, even if the Q's call your still 41% approx to win the hand...

PS. I would never fold pre, and would fold the river...

I was never going to fold pre as it was a nice hand with a raise and a call and as I said I put them both on high premium hands. The flop was as ChipPrince said the best I could hope for without hitting trips, why would I raise thinking that at least one of them had a higher pair...its a nice flop but im still drawing. The queens are always going to reraise...well I would with that hand.

My main reason for posting the hand is for the action on the river.

Interesting that everyone has said fold.

The guy was the last to act and I was sure he didnt have JT so either A/KTd (possible) or TT which I didnt think was likely.

I seen it happen so often lately and everytime ive folded i wished i hadnt.

Never ever fold this pf. You also have relative position which makes it better.
