Title: Computer help pls Post by: TightEnd on December 16, 2008, 01:10:24 PM No sound working: itunes/Iplayer, poker sites etc. Completely mute
MSN pinging, error message pinging etc working fine speakers plugged in correctly, troubleshooting of sound drivers and hardware shows nothing what is the likely problem here and what is the solution? ta Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: AndrewT on December 16, 2008, 01:13:07 PM If you have headphones, try plugging them in instead and this will tell you if the problem is with the speakers or computer. mute too, so its computer somewhere... Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: Dingdell on December 16, 2008, 01:14:13 PM Try turning it all off, waiting ten seconds and then turning it on again. No need to thank me.
Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: TightEnd on December 16, 2008, 01:14:42 PM If speakers have external power, are they switched on (I know...) lol, all lights on and working! Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: TightEnd on December 16, 2008, 01:15:14 PM I'm assuming you haven't muted the sound in Windows (double-click on speaker icon in system tray to check) all fine Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: WYSINWYG on December 16, 2008, 01:15:42 PM Have you been playing online poker? Full tilt messes up my sound in a similar way.

Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: TightEnd on December 16, 2008, 01:34:32 PM fixed it I think
Audio files needed to be put back onto default. No idea why they weren't on default. Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: HOLDorFOLD on December 16, 2008, 01:34:36 PM Have you been playing online poker? Full (http://blondepoker.com/index.php?q=node/12206)Tilt (http://blondepoker.com/index.php?q=node/12206) messes up my sound in a similar way. Same here although it doesn't mute it completely, it just reduces it significantly. About 10 hiours later its all back and fine. Very strange. Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: WYSINWYG on December 16, 2008, 01:34:59 PM No, not mute Wow! So they come out ok as wavs and mp3s using a standalone program but sound cannot work through other applications like poker and itunes? Sounds just like what happened to me with Tilt, which is a pain cos I like the sound alerts. Switch on/off no resolve this? Try upgrading soundcard drivers, Direct X from www.microsoft.com , and directplay (I think) from them too. Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: TightEnd on December 16, 2008, 01:36:56 PM its at times like this that my little knowledge becomes dangerous
my audio sound playback needed to be re-defaulted, thanks Booder very strange. Title: Re: Computer help pls Post by: Graham C on December 16, 2008, 01:46:07 PM Sometimes the WAV section of the computer volume controls gets muted for some reason on mine and it's just a case of putting it back. Usually takes me 10 mins to figure it out each time though.
