Title: European Poker Awards - one time please Mr Raab and Mr Yong
Post by: DaveShoelace on December 19, 2008, 01:01:01 PM
Great line up for this years awards, tough to pick between Mr Trumper and Mr Raab, but I personally think Jon should snag it for making the GUKPT the best poker tour in the world outside of the 'Big 3'. Obviously the awards are rigged if Rob Yong doesn't take the innovation award.

Thanks Barry. It is an honour to have been nominated for this award and I will be going to Paris for the Gala dinner in mid January. Funnily enough, on the email I received informing me of my nomination it said I had been nominated in the Innovation category as well, but I'm not mentioned on the list above.

You practised your 'pretending not to be gutted, smiling, clapping and pretending you are pleased for the winner' face yet?

Seriously though, I think you are going to win this one though mate, sorry to BOK you so soon after the nomination.

Fret not JR, you ARE (or were!) nominated in the "Innovation" Award.

Nic Szeremeta gave me the entire list of Nominees when I met him last week at DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/), & you were on both the Nominee List for The Rob Gardner Award for Innovation, & the Casino Staff Person of the Year Award.

Good Luck in both, you fully deserve recognition for your work in the poker world.

I really don't know who to root for, with you, Mother Hen, & Rob (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=383) Yong (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=383) all variously nominated.

Chop 'em up, I say. ;)

Anyone know the results? I've heard on the grapevine that ElkY won player of the year and Eastgate won tournament performance of the year, but nowt else.

Rob Yong won the innovation award.

Sandra Naujoks (I can't spell her surname ever) won the 'Leading Lady' award

Demidov won the rookie of the year. So sick for Jesper Hougaard and Sebastian Ruthenberg, who both put in performances that win pretty much any other year.

Marcel Luske won the lifetime achievement award.
