Title: Desert Orchid 'chase Post by: Karabiner on December 27, 2008, 12:00:28 PM This race at Kempton Park today at 3.15pm completely fascinates me, not least because there are no less than three horses which as far as I know must lead !
The German horse Fiepes Shuffle, Ashley Brook and Petit Robin all just bolt like sprinters when the tape goes up which makes Twist Magic a good bet in my view as those three will surely cut each other's throats. I remember last time Petit Robin ran Henderson was very worried before the race that he would get taken on in front and go too quick but as it happened PR was never challenged let alone headed and looked very impressive, although in handicap company and off a low weight, whereas this is open category and a big step up to take on the big boys. All in all it should be some spectacle, what could be better than top-class two mile 'chasers going hell for leather around Kempton Park ? Agreed, Twist Magic will win if he jumps...not a doubt in my mind (Petit Robin is an interesting one though) I am on at 15-8 with Corals...a massive price IMO. Title: Re: Desert Orchid 'chase Post by: steeveg on December 27, 2008, 12:33:05 PM yeah, good ground and a fast pace at kempton will be ideal, its just the odd mistake which stops it being a cert , but Kempton fences not to bad so worth the bet near 2/1

Title: Re: Desert Orchid 'chase Post by: boldie on December 27, 2008, 03:28:54 PM top result for my scoop6 placer..outsider wins it and petit Robin 2nd...that should ensure atleast a few tenners.
edit..46£...a 30£ profit but FML anyways Title: Re: Desert Orchid 'chase Post by: Karabiner on December 27, 2008, 03:33:43 PM Didn't look good from the moment it was reluctant to start and never recovered from it's mid-air barge with Ashley Brook.
