Title: tennis Post by: ad010 on January 03, 2009, 03:59:59 PM Anyone watching the tennis today/yesterday i know there,s a few murray haters out there and i,m a wee bit biased but his beaten of federer yesterday and the final which i,m watching now(prob,s the first time i,ve got really into a tennis match great stuff). he,s proved he can beat the big 2 so deffo has a gram slam in him this year doubled up with bbc sports personality of the year looks a good bet to me. opinions?

He proved this last year to be fair and this tourney is nothing more than a glorified pre season friendly, think Amerstdam tourny, emirates cup etc in football. Nonetheless he has real chance of scooping the Aussie open later this month and as i have said on the board before that makes him close to a lock for bbc SPOTY if he wins a slam. Title: Re: tennis Post by: scotty2hatty on January 03, 2009, 04:19:58 PM Awesome match!
Title: Re: tennis Post by: Scottish Dave on January 03, 2009, 05:19:51 PM I had £20 on Murray yesterday @ 11/10
Who won the final today? EDIT: Just clocked that Muzza won it 2-1 $250,000 isn't bad for a pre season tourney Title: Re: tennis Post by: ad010 on January 03, 2009, 10:57:39 PM Yeah i admit i,m not a tennis expert and i know he beat them both last year thats what my post was meant to say about backing him,but if he wins the aussie is it not to soon in the season to be considered for bbc spoy? reckon he,d need to win Wimbledon or the us for that? worth a big bet?
and todays tennis was awesome as scotty said ,nadal was playing very close to his best no? No. I'm a big Murray fan but neither were at their best, especially Nadal. Was still a cracking match tho. I had £100 on Murray to beat Federer @ 6/5 in the semis then the £120 profit on Nadal to win today @ 8/11. Thats how i saw it unfolding but was wrong. I was still hoping Murray would win anyway so was happy.
