Title: Re: Surviving Gazza Post by: WYSINWYG on January 06, 2009, 01:08:02 AM Yeah, kinda sad. At the end of the day he has serious psychotic disorders, and needs more than badgering by his ex to stop him dying from alcoholism in the next 5 years.
I missed the hotel confrontation bit, did they get through to him? Title: Re: Surviving Gazza Post by: bolt pp on January 06, 2009, 01:21:58 AM Yeah, kinda sad. I missed the hotel confrontation bit, did they get through to him? no they didnt show it though but they came out quite upset and said that he was absolutely gone I tend to think(dont know if it's right or not) that if you just have drug or alcohol problems they can be dealt with but when you have such a sever and long standing psychiatric problem which is also the cause of your addictions it's very difficult to treat He's had several treatments and been heavily medicated and still thinks everyone is a secret agent against him and his house is bugged and he talks to george bush about playing darts on the phone, i dont see how you can recover from that sort of deeprooted mental illness, especially if you dont really want to get well(or the illness is stopping you from committing too treatment) I suppose if it causes you to just act a bit odd and adopt a few peculiar idiosyncrasies it's manageable but if it's causing you to drink yourself to death i dont really see what can be done or how theres a way back.
