Just watching the gala nottingham leg of the tour which was televised which steve holden won.

An italian/english guy raises, puts his call in first (which i dont like, but no biggie) and as he's finding an amount, ash abdulla passes.

Trumper states "Ash passing before the raise is announced, but thats ok"  NO ITS NOT OK!!

Its such bad form to pass before the raise is announced because the player can then adjust his amount depending on what hand he has

and how many players are left in the hand. If he has a strong hand he could make it a bit less if he wants action on the hand, etc....

imagine if the CO raises but doesnt announce, and the button and sb pass, so he just has the bb to beat who say is on 10bb, he c an just say all in, which

he  wouldnt have done if the players waited for the raise to be announced before folding.

THIS IS BAD FORM, i always pull dealers and players up for it.

Other things which are bad form are.

Leaving the table to go for a fag/piss before its your turn, effectively passing out of turn, this creates the same problem as the above. Just wait. TY

The other thing is that is potentially slows up the game.

People know that sometimes opponents will pass before they announce the size of the raise and so they now have plenty incentive to dwell it up.

Recently a player insisted on doing both of the things you mention in a comp I was in, most usually passing and going for a fag before several players in front of him had acted. I pulled him up on it and he couldn't see it. I asked the dealer in the break to enforce the "no passing out of turn" rule, but she was too timid/unconcerned to bother. So I asked the TD, who did enforce it but only at the cost of verbal aggro at the table from the player.

Basic etiquette, and often ignored I find.

yeah I noticed this a lot at DTD over the weekend with sometimes two or three people passing before the raiser had announced the size of their raise.  You'd get pulled up for it in Luton for sure, but doesn't seem to bother the dealers at DTD.

Think it depends on the dealer at DTD, i can think of a couple straight away who will always stop the player and ask them not to pass out of turn, so they probably all know they are meant to do it.

why does it never seem to be considered bad form when it happens in a cash game? happens all the time and I've never seen anyone object (I'm talking about the going for a fag thing btw)

Just for the record, agree with Triggs points but the one that does my head in completely is the fact 90% of players insist on using the smallest denomination chips they have. It slows the game down and is just complete stupidity. It should be a rule that your bet must be made using as few chips as possible or you are given a warning, a time penalty, disqualified, a kicking in the car park, shot, shot in the eye.

Were the dealers at DTD who didn't enforce it regular DTD dealers?  They usually enforce the passing out of turn rule, and will warn players if they get up and go to the loo before it's their turn to act.  Of course, at the baby-stakes cash games I play there are many noobs who don't know that it's wrong - so they aren't penalised, just informed about the etiquette and they are only given a sterner talking-to when they repeat offend.

For some reason they value his custom so much they allow him free run of the place.
If he doesnt like a member of staff theyre gone.
If he needs some food they put points on his card.
Whatever he asks for he gets.

I had to get involved once to stop one of the cardroom valets being sacked for no reason, well it was about to happen because someone had complained to Ash that she was rude. To save her job I explained to Ash that his friend was not only rude but also a complete prick.

Nice enough bloke though, I actually really like him. But then again I know a lot more stories..................................

Yeah I never had a problem with Ash. Was always nice to me. It was just a flaw in the running of the place.

This, i know someone way up high though and apparently its pretty standard everywhere.

Much more sensible now, just play once a week at DTD and dont bother looking at my cards.  :D

agreed, along with those that stack up their chips and then push them over as they cross the line, just for the dealer to pick up again.

players who put the antes / blinds so far away from the dealer that it slows down the game as the dealer has to climb across the table to collect every ducking hand, and esp those that when uyou ask to put closer they look at you like you just fucked the familys dog and put the money shot on the curtains.
