Don't give the raiser the chance to fold his probable set if the turn completes this potentially draw heavy board.

If you flat it he knows that you're on a draw so may pass when it hits.

Get it in now and I think you're evens or maybe a slight favourite against a set without some of your redraws.

The only merit to flatting is to hope to get the other guys chips as well but I can only see a shove here.

Why the small flop lead?

i assumed to facilitate a 3b shove given stacks?

Pretty much this, but i wasn't expecting the button to make that move the BB was fairly active and had shown signs in previous hands that he would defend with hands including top pair or an overpair to the board.

This is pretty much the line I was taking here, also if I flat the raise I am more or less committed to calling any bet on the turn/river with the stacks and possible pot size.

Given pre-flop actions it was difficult to put them on a range of hands BB could have had any 4 cards he had shown signs previously that he would defed to the hilt.  The button, wasn't so active in my time at the table but again limping and then calling a raise I don't put him on a premium holding i think he has a hand that is draw heavy pre - maybe medium connecting cards.

Well, this was what I assumed so I didn't understand why the hand was being posted! Anyways, button can be reading the bet for weakness, just ship it in.

I shipped it in, i was kind of interested to see if anyone else played it differently perhaps check/calling the flop.
