When my kids were young, a couple of things happened. Not long after Stacey was born she was laid in a familypassmedowntradtioncrib, by the side of my bed. It was on a home made wooden stand, didn't rock or owt. Well on more than one occasion in the night I was awoken to the sound of wood creeking and the crib moving in a sort of rocking motion. Stacey was new born it was no way her moving it. In the same house when Gregg was around 3 he would come into the room saying that man is here again mummy. He reckoned to have seen him on many occasions in our home. I also have another great story from when we went to Prescott in Arizona and stayed at a " reknown" haunted lodge. But that is too long for now. And i am all in on pkt K's. Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: kinboshi on January 08, 2009, 02:28:46 PM I saw the film when it first came out. Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: Acidmouse on January 08, 2009, 02:48:09 PM Used to play a bout with the Ouija board when I was a teenager most probably only about 5-10 times. This one time we did it in our garage and it basically said I was a medium, yikes. It then proceeded to tell me I needed to find a knife in the old Mill Garth police station in Leeds which was used to killed a women and throw it in the canal to free her spirit.
Ok so here’s where it used to be: (http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b4/simon_mcgill/image.jpg) its near the market behind new police station ringed in picture. When we went there the next day it was a virtually derelict building with old cells down the cellar. We cracked open a window and managed to find ourselves downs near the cells where low and behold we found a old bloodstained knife with what appeared to be the one!. We all pissed off and never went back, my mates were more scared than me and none of them planted the knife as the place was all locked up still + they would have said afterwards. Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: Claw75 on January 08, 2009, 03:33:00 PM did you throw the knife in the canal?
Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: Acidmouse on January 08, 2009, 03:34:28 PM did you throw the knife in the canal? Nope. The place is now a carpark so no going back. Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: Colchester Kev on January 08, 2009, 05:49:30 PM Firstly i have to stress that I dont believe in God, Ghosts, heaven, hell, reincarnation etc etc ...
But this tale has been told and told in our family for a lot of years. When I was a baby, around 4 months old, I was ill with a virus and made a hell of a lot of noise ( no change there then) ... My parents lived at that time in west London in a house with 4 flats in. One day I was crying more than ever and my mother took me out in the pram to try and get me off to sleep. On returning from the trip I was still whining so my mum left me in the pram outside the door in the communal lobby, after a couple of minutes I had gone quiet and mum came to the lobby to see a woman of around 40 standing over me smiling and stroking my face, the woman looked at my mum and said "dont worry, he will be fine. He just needs to get used to all the new things he is seeing, and take them all in" ... My mum thanked the lady and she went down the stairs and out of the building. When my Dad got home from work, my mum told him about the lady and the fact that she had never seen her before ... she described the lady and what she was wearing etc ... and my dad went white as a sheet. He immediately went to the bedroom and deep in the wardrobe in an old shoe box were some old photo's, he produced the only picture he had of his Mum, who died when he was only 4 years old .... The picture matched EXACTLY both the description of looks and clothing of the lady in the hallway !! Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: Claw75 on January 08, 2009, 06:32:43 PM Firstly i have to stress that I dont believe in God, Ghosts, heaven, hell, reincarnation etc etc ... I don't either, but there is definitely stuff that happens like this that is hard to explain. Interesting that your story and Maureen's both involve young children - I don't know if something about their innocence and lack of cynicism that makes them more likely to experience such things. I've got a few stories of my own, this is the most recent. Four years or so ago, when my daughter was one and a half, my family moved from Ealing to Ruislip. The flat we moved into wasn't your usual candidate for hauntings - built in 2003 we were only the 2nd people to live there. Over the course of a few weeks, a lot of stuff happened that was hard to explain. The first time I was alone in the flat with Hannah. She was standing in her bedroom doorway looking out into the hall, and I was kneeling in front of her looking in to the bedroom. You know that feeling you get when someone is standing right behind you? Well, I got that feeling and, at exactly the same time Hannah looked over my shoulder. I turned around to see nothing there, then turned back to face Hannah, at the same time shrugging it off, and she said 'girl gone'. I can't remember the order the other stuff happened in, but it was all within a short space of time. We had unexplained crashing noises in the flat, bottle tops and jar lids having been removed of their own accord, doors opening by themselves and another where Hannah appeared to be conversing with the 'girl'. Two experiences which were personal to me - I was lying in my bed one afternoon about to take a nap when I heard a little girl's voice right in my ear - I turned over expecting to see Hannah lying on the bed next to me, but she wasn't there. The other was in the evening. I had gone to bed before Gary and was just dropping off to sleep when the covers came flying off the bed. It was as if someone had got hold of the bottom corner of the duvet and tugged them off hard in one go. I sat up expecting to see Gary at the foot of the bed and ready to give him an earful, but he was still in the living room and the duvet was crumpled on the floor. It was a good few days before I'd stay in the bedroom on my own again, and until the day I moved out, if Gary was away overnight I'd sleep on the couch. Nothing really happened after Hannah had reached an age where she could vocalise properly, so I never really got to find out more about what she had experienced, but I'm still sure that place was haunted for a bit! Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: Joobie538 on January 08, 2009, 06:52:17 PM my 3yr old niece has started talking about her nanna that picks apples - my dad's mum who died 2 yrs before she was born my brother has fallen out with that side of the family so has never spoken about them. I went on a most haunted style ghost hunt last year run by this company http://www.frightnights.co.uk/home/ (don't all take the piss) my sister-in-law is really into it and was too scared to go on her own, so me having a mild interest went along, it was a all night jobby with a medium, - far less dramatic than most haunted!!! few strange banging noises and movements and only being 10 of us in the house, all in the same room, they couldn't be explained!! - it was a great night i'd reccommend it, probably won't do another but glad i did that one. True story, happened in Sheffield to a friend of my aunties. A lady had been shopping for the afternoon and was on her way back to her car. As she got near to her car she could see a man in a suit standing near her car. The man saw her looking at him and as she got nearer he asked if this was her car. She told him that it was. He said "Some lads were hanging around near it, looking in the windows so i acted as if it was my car and walked towards it because i thought they were going to break in, they ran off but i stuck around in case they came back". She thanked him but then he said "The only thing is i'm going to miss my train because i stuck around, i know it's rude to ask but i don't suppose you could give me a lift to the station could you?" The woman was a bit unsure about giving a stranger a lift but he had been kind and looked after the car so decided she should reward his good deed. She got into the car but strangely he didn't get into the front passanger seat but instead opened one of the back doors and sat directly behind her. She thought this was a bit weird and got nervous. Thinking quickly she said "Oh my hand brake is really stiff, can you come round and take it off for me please?". The man got out of the car and as he did she started the engine and drove off. She felt really guilty but it had made her nervous. When she got home she noticed that the man's briefcase was on the back seat. She decided to go to the police station explain what had happened and give them the briefcase and hoped that they could return it to the man. Not too sure of the time period between giving the police the briefcase to the next part but the briefcase was unclaimed and so in an atempt to find the rightful owner the police broke the suitcase open. Inside all they found was a strangle wire and a hand gun..... Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: Claw75 on January 09, 2009, 12:15:01 AM that one's been doing the urban myth rounds for years!

A friend was running a bath for her baby, and then some pink gunge came through the taps and tried to grab her. Fortunately, she managed to get the baby out of the way. A few days later though, the baby crawled out of a window (that was locked) and was abducted by an old lady who flew through the air. I think the baby was taken to an art museum where some medieval warlord was going to be reborn into the baby's body. Fortunately Jackie Wilson saved the day and all was good. Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: bolt pp on February 04, 2009, 05:40:31 PM when we used to skip school we used to race trolleys in abandoned carparks under an estate( brutal but blinding stuff, we all used to run as fast as we could with our trolly to the top of the long slope then jump on top of the handle bars or in and whoever hadnt crashed and tore themselfs up at the end and was still rolling when it flattened out won, some serious crashes, good days though) anyway one day me and my pal and these two girls had skipped school and were in this garage that we had never been in before it was locked up and no one ever used to go in there, we forced our way in(juvinile criminal damage FTW obv)! so we're all mucking about(we were probably trying to get them to play whatever game involved them taking their tops off) then we all heard a noise from one of the garages in the corner, we all stopped at the same time and looked at eachother, it was so apparent that there was someone there and had obv been there the whole time we had so we were a bit freaked out.
After a bit of deliberation we decided that the best course of action was to throw a piece of metal in that genaral direction and see what happend so i picked up this metal plank and chuched into the corner, i swear this is what happend next, from behind the door out of the dark came two of the clearest huge red eyes youve ever seen, if you could imagine a bears eyes im not joking they wer huge but not like a dogs or anything that sprung to mind and theres was a little bit of rustling and you could hear breathing and we just shit ourself when we heard it move significantly and just legged it towards the exit, when we left we had been sitting on milk bottle crates and there were empty milk bottles on the side next to them and we heard them being smashed from outside and a howling sort of sound that was too shit scary and weird to even describe. about a week after we were told that the caretaker was fired just a few days later when he tried to put a lock back on the door then went back for some reason an hour later and tried to set a fire, no one knows why, he was arrested though but apparently has never said to anyone why he went back or what he saw! 100% truth that is exactly as it happend, it was even in the local news paper that he was sacked and what for! Title: Re: Ghost Stories Post by: relaedgc on February 05, 2009, 04:38:50 AM When I was a baby, my grandfather lived in the house along with my parents. He was slowly beginning to die from cancer, and had come home. Now, in the house, we used to have an old coal fire that he was especially fond of raking in the early morning. After he passed away, the mornings were markedly silent for a change.
For a while, at least. About a year later, approximating here because I forgot the exact timings, but the fire was starting to get raked again. The first time it happened, my parents woke up instantly and were baffled. My mum checked my room and there I was asleep, but she could hear someone prodding at the fire downstairs. So, they both go down and open the living room. No one is there. This happens regularly for a while and then stops, never to be heard again. |
