Title: Some Sunday Bets! Post by: GlasgowBandit on January 18, 2009, 12:40:23 PM No Celtic Clean Sheet - 5/8 - Celtic have a failry decent record up at Aberdeen over the last few years we have gone up there and beat them most times, games are normally quite open as Sunbed Jimmy likes to play open expansive Football plus Aberdeen have been doing well of late and Celtic's defence is pretty fragile when teams have a go at it.
To score at any time I fancy: Lee Miller 4.0 - seems to be the only Aberdeen player with and led in his pencil. Loovens 18.5 - probably Celtic's most potent threat from a set piece delivery, and with the likes of Nakamura, Mizuno, Robson, Crosas putting in qualty balls he should get a fee chances as I suspect that he may well play from the start today. We are absolute mince against you at Pittodrie, I would be more confident at Celtic Park. Got on Miller first scorer at 15/2, he was immense on Tuesday against Killie. Will take anyone scoring though. Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets! Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets! Post by: gatso on January 18, 2009, 01:57:23 PM Loovens 18.5 this looks massive but he's only scored 7 in 7 years and I believe only 1 of those was against decent opposition, do you really see much value here? are you playing him any different to how previous clubs have? What a game. Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets! Post by: Scottish Dave on January 18, 2009, 04:35:27 PM Sigh ... bang goes my quiet Sunday evening. lol you have it backwards mate, when celtic lose old firm games, there is little to no voilence, its when Rangers lose, there is WWIII on the streets, so sleep save tonight mate lol Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets! Post by: Scottish Dave on January 18, 2009, 04:38:30 PM Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas What a game. well played today mate, as long as your play thing that again next week you should score double figures against a weaker side. Whats your views on Aberdeens 3rd goal, i thought as soon as the ref blows for a Penalty, the play can't continue, it then goes in the net, and the goal is given instead? whats your thinking on this mate? Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets! Can't give a goal when the ref's stopped play...would have thought that was straight forward really. Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets! Post by: GlasgowBandit on January 18, 2009, 05:06:59 PM Celtic were mince today. Aberdeen well worth their win.
But a few things puzzled me: 1) Aberdeens 2nd goal - Duff not off but as soon as the ball was played into the middle Celtic defence steps out to play 2 boys in the box offside - the ball was aimed in for one of these players not Duff. Plus the player in the box I think it was Miller jumped. How is that not interfering with play? 2) How did Mark Kerr not get sent off for that horrble lunge at Andy Hinkle. Straight red IMO no doubt. 3) That 3rd goal WTF!!! I mean whistle goes everyone thinks cool no goal, and I don't think it was for a penalty but because Darrn Makie had a shove at Jan Venegoor. 4) Just to even things up and to show I am not bleating about the officials being against us, what was the assistant thinking of when he flagged Aluko offside when he got through and hit the post? He was clearly like 2 yards onside. Really the standard of Scottish refereeing is so poor. I know we all moan about refs but really its days like this that make me wonder whats the point in having them. Remember when you wer a kid and you played a game and just got on with it grabbed the ball if it was a free kick or penalty. It would be so much easier. Regarding Celtic, well Strachan done it again. Our left back is out so he plays a midfielder at leftback, when we have 2 left footed defenders sitting on the fucking bench. I like Barry Robson but he is not a left back, he is not even a LM he is a very decent player in the middle of the park. McManus was rotten, he has been all season to be frank when he took that head knock it was clear he was suffering for at least 10 minutes after it. Should have been taken off and repalced by Loovens/Odea. As the match went on, Aberdeen were sitting deeper, common sense tells you to make a chance sooner bring on someone with some pace and creativity. Strachan brings on big Jan who hasn't had much action in the past few months a hard task to come into a game that was going at quite a pace. Just really pissed off today that we never performed. Hope Aberdeen can show that consistency next week and they should give the huns a battering. Ohhh and another thing it irks me to see Charlie Mulgrew playing so well for Aberdeen defending well delivering quality balls from all over the field and to think Strachan got rid of him and brough in that lump of wood the one season wonder Lee Naylor. Ask the staff in emergency wards, police. city centre boozers etc. When Rangers loose especially Old Firm games there is so much more violence. Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets! Post by: rossfourfive on January 18, 2009, 07:06:02 PM well played today mate, as long as your play thing that again next week you should score double figures against a weaker side. Whats your views on Aberdeens 3rd goal, i thought as soon as the ref blows for a Penalty, the play can't continue, it then goes in the net, and the goal is given instead? whats your thinking on this mate? Hopefully we even things up and put 4 past Rangers next week aswell! I think the ref showed some common sense to give the goal, he played advantage and we scored from it. It's not as if your defenders stopped playing when the whistle went anyway. 1) Aberdeens 2nd goal - Duff not off but as soon as the ball was played into the middle Celtic defence steps out to play 2 boys in the box offside - the ball was aimed in for one of these players not Duff. Plus the player in the box I think it was Miller jumped. How is that not interfering with play? At first i did think the jump would be interfering with play but it's such a grey area no-one knows for sure. 2) How did Mark Kerr not get sent off for that horrble lunge at Andy Hinkle. Straight red IMO no doubt. Agreed, was a horrible challenge. 4) Just to even things up and to show I am not bleating about the officials being against us, what was the assistant thinking of when he flagged Aluko offside when he got through and hit the post? He was clearly like 2 yards onside. Really the standard of Scottish refereeing is so poor. Remember when you wer a kid and you played a game and just got on with it grabbed the ball if it was a free kick or penalty. It would be so much easier. Yea was a crazy decision. Scottish refs are shocking. When Celtic scored to make it 2-2 i could only see one team winning it. Happy to see me proved wrong though. And ffs Spurs done me out of £200. Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets! Post by: Teacake on January 18, 2009, 08:02:01 PM Thers no way I'm blaming the ref for the deafeat today, I thought he showed common sense at the 3rd goal. Kerr could have had a red card but fair play to Aberdeen for going on to win after being pegged back twice.

But the refs performance was shocking, infact all 3 officials were pretty poor. Title: Re: Some Sunday Bets!
