Title: credit reports Post by: ACE2M on January 19, 2009, 07:15:33 PM i just checked my credit report for the first time and find that loads of poker companies and bookies do a search on your account for money laundering!! surely this can't be good for my credit rating?
Title: Re: credit reports Post by: lazaroonie on January 19, 2009, 07:36:35 PM depends what type of search it is.
mostly they will be 'unrecorded" so are not known to any potential lenders. Title: Re: credit reports Post by: ACE2M on January 19, 2009, 07:45:13 PM i have 3 like this 'Search Purpose:Money Laundering ' and 1 like this 'Search Purpose:Identification Product (Non Credit) ' no mention of unrecorded.
Title: Re: credit reports Post by: lazaroonie on January 19, 2009, 07:51:39 PM where are you searching, equifax or experian ?
doesnt really matter anyway, people searching your file for the purposes of credit application will only see searches made by other credit companies. Title: Re: credit reports Post by: ACE2M on January 19, 2009, 07:54:51 PM callcredit
Title: Re: credit reports Post by: lazaroonie on January 19, 2009, 07:58:14 PM callcredit surprised it has any information on it at all.... :) not many companies use cc for searches or recording of account information. Title: Re: credit reports Post by: ACE2M on January 19, 2009, 08:08:45 PM so they are toss then?
Title: Re: credit reports Post by: lazaroonie on January 19, 2009, 08:20:41 PM so they are toss then? i would seem that more companies are using them to report information to (although still less than the "big two"), but not many use them when you apply for credit. experian is probably the widest used. Title: Re: credit reports Post by: ACE2M on January 19, 2009, 08:30:50 PM ok, cheers laz
