Title: Re: Just a few cash hands Post by: MC on January 26, 2009, 08:11:30 PM 2nd hand looks standard...
You should let 1st hand go most of the time; J is a plausible card to hit, he's bet into 2 players, plus the flush draw there.... Title: Re: Just a few cash hands Post by: AlexMartin on January 26, 2009, 11:30:48 PM they both look fine. hand 1 u might just fold to his donk purely because a lot of flushdraws are calling. wp, variance will come through.

hand 2 is ok, I think id prolly just call the flop though, his lead into the field means if you hit your hand you are gonna get paid close to 100% of the time, which consequently means he almost never folds to your riase, so you are kinda shifting the odds into your favour by just calling. His donking range wont ever be that strong. add to that the fact its 3way to the flop makes our shove look even stronger. finally the fact we always have some equity and its ok imo, deffo some of the time when playing regulars imo. This is without doubt the most unbalanced spot in SSNL. People dont bet here unless they are stacking off, so your c/r here, is, without doubt, terrible. I know its cool to spew 2p2 axioms and to use "range" 10 times in a single post, but you cant be using ranges when you play your hand in a way that will never rep a good range. At this standard most are pretty ABC and would you seriously check on a board like this, against two players, with a made hand?
Without stats or reads on either of you my guess here would be that top pair would be good in most situations. Hand 2 just standard. Title: Re: Just a few cash hands Post by: T_Mar on January 28, 2009, 10:59:54 PM Hand 1 already been talked about, but not sure I would play hand 2 like you did given you up against a shorty, if he hit any part of this flop which it looks like he has given the lead, then he is not folding to your raise.. if he was deeper stacked then I would like a raise but would be looking to get it in with some kind of made hand against the short stack... Interested to know others thoughts on this tho?
