Title: What's my line?
Post by: TightEnd on January 27, 2009, 11:38:33 AM
100-200

4 tables remain

Villain 12,000 in EP

Hero 8,000 in SB

Lady 3,000 in BB

Villain opens for 425, doesn't mean too much as he is loose, active and splashy

Hero in SB with  Jd Jh. The Short-stacked BB has pushed on her last three big blinds to one raiser or multiple limpers

Hero flats to tempt her to shove it in/squeeze and then he will snap

Lady flats, sadly

three to the flop 1,275 in the pot

flop  5c Js 2d

check, check, bet 800 by Villain which on this board is highly unlikely to be anything other than a stab at it , called by top set on safe/dry board, lady sadly folds

turn  6h which is a shame, wanted action card like A/K/Q

At this point I intend to check-call turn and lead river for 1/2 or 60% of the pot

do I have any other options that are better than this?

You could lead out the turn here, prevents him checking behind, and could induce a raise. Could also mean you get bets in on the turn and the river.

It does look kinda strong though, but not everyone is that perceptive.

The only problem is it prevents him having another stab if he has AQ type hand, whereas he can fold to the lead out...

he needs to do a lot more than that to get action :)

srsly, ppl view him as the rock of gibraltar, unknowns tell me hands outside and its ridic the respect his bets/raises get.

In that case, he has to check the turn here, otherwise people will be folding on other tables.  It's an issue I have, but it does mean you can steal with relative impunity against observant/intelligent players.

i play against table image and make ridic over bet, if it gets called (odds are greatly against this) then great (prob), if not take it down and move on, play too cheaply on a board where u have no idea what hes got and what hes poss drawing too is only asking for trouble imo...u flopped great , ur not gonna get paid imo no matter what u do, if he calls or raises any serious action after river...???..

Conclusion ...kill pot and move on...

just hit em with the min-raise on the flop. No one knows how to react to a minraise, it sends them all crazy. They will either spazz out on the flop, or call and spazz out on the turn,  but one thing you can be assured of, is that they will spazz out somewhere.  Its highly exploitable, but its a move that people just dont know how to exploit, which is why its so profitable.
