Saying that I don't download loads of random crap anyway so am probably less at risk than most. My question is though - Am I wasting my money? I've seen threads about all this free anti virus stuff and wondered how it compares? I've always been of the opinion that if it's free it's probably crap but plenty seem happy with AVG / AVAST / etc..... But, if you don't want to pay - AVAST for your anti-virus, and then for your firewall, you can use the windows firewall, or something like ZoneAlarm, Comodo, Online Armor. That should protect you from most threats, and then use a lot of common sense. My mate made me buy it a few years ago and it is the easiest AV/FW to manage. It runs on very low processing power and isn't too expensive.
