Title: OT: FILM THREAD
Post by: snoopy1239 on November 26, 2005, 01:38:03 AM
Sorry all, but I'm really bored at the mo.

Any1 seen any good films recently? I fancy a trip down to the flicks next week.

What's hot and what's not?

In fact, tell us about a film you love. Everyone loves to sit back and watch a classic from time to time.

snoopy

Sorry what a crap post from me. Just got really into all his films recently. He seems to be able to do great action without cheese.

You are lagging my friend, brown woolly jumpers with green wellies and waxed jacket are all the rage in the Surrey countryside

I thought it was excellent. The book is well worth a read too.

What would you say when you see your mate alive at the bottom though? "Errr sorry I cut the rope mate. I'm glad you're alive!"

Just watched Harry Potter and The Exorcism of Emily Rose - both great films.  Emily Rose wasn't in the least bit scary to watch, it's the knowing it's based on a true story that freaks you out the most!!!

The lass who plays Fluer Delacour is a green banana.

Night Watch is pretty good although its in Russain with subs, kinda a more grisly version of underworld based on a wicked book and part of a trilogy.

Emily Rose was a great film.

Doom is currently out i think which is also quite good compared to most films based on Video games
Revolver is quality but a bit of a headf**k
Flightplan is terrible, great premise but lousy film
The aristocrats is a documentry on the every comics favourite joke (its also a bit sick lol)

not really sure what else is out at moment as i tend to see em a bit in advance lol

Watched Saw recently and really enjoyed it so might go and see Saw 2 which is meant to be just as good. Probably not suited to everyones tastes but is a cracking crime thriller.

Saw 2 is quality, not too much different from the first one considerin its more mainstream, most films fall flat after pickin up a bigger budget

I fancy that Chronicles of Narnia when it comes out.

Pity I don't have any kids so don't have an excuse to go see it.

Mental note - get a girlfriend (not to bear my children, that would take too long, and it'll be out on DVD by the time it's born anyway) women are also a good excuse to go see a kiddy film.

touching the void, great book, great movie, not often you see boneyM make a soundtrack appearance!
don't get to the movies much of late but managed to catch 'the constant gardener' on a dull blackpool afternoon which was great,
favourite is probably 'once upon a time in america' - got some norkage too for the KC's of the world, hehe

I recommend The Descent: Tough, yet gorgeous women vs cave monsters from the director of "Dog Soldiers."  8)

There's a really good French gangster movie out at a few selected venues "The beat that my heart skipped", terrific.
Also, opening next week, is a documentary called "March of the Penguins". A beautiful film. Kids 6+ will love it. Took my Granddaughters, we were all moved by it. A likely oscar winner in 2006.

march of the penguins has totaslly changed from the orignal cut, originally the director gave all the penguins a voice ala look whos talking but when the film was sold to american companies morgan freeman (i think it is) was brought in to narrate the film like a true documentry which took out the whjole comedy aspect of the film.

Another class film comin out is Everything is Illuminated based on the book of the same name its awesome soul searchin movie

Depends if you're into mind boggling films. It's a bit of head f... well, you get the idea.
