Title: Poker gods work in mysterious ways! Post by: Thespeedman on February 05, 2009, 04:43:44 PM Played the £20 sat at DTD last night. plodded along quite nicely without a rebuy and had a reasonable stack after the break. Picked up A10 in poor position and flat called. two other limpers and we see a flop. Tc Qh Ts. player one bets 1000 player 2 calls and i raise it up 4000. don't want any draws in there. player one passes player two calls. turn was a blank, player 2 checks so i push all in. Player 2 thinks long and announces he's already in the pot so what the hell. calls and turns over Th 7c. you guessed river was 7d. oh well thats the game. BUT...... decided wasn't my night for cash game and went home early.... to find partner collapsed in bathroom..... quick 999, ambulance there in eight mins and straight to hosp and into resus. She's made a good recovery and all looks good,,, but if the poker gods weren't looking over me!

Title: Re: Poker gods work in mysterious ways! Post by: kinboshi on February 05, 2009, 05:05:22 PM I love a happy ending. Just shows that the complaints about beats in poker are pretty trivial and unnecessary really.
Hope she's back to 100% soon. Title: Re: Poker gods work in mysterious ways! Post by: byronkincaid on February 05, 2009, 05:20:14 PM “An old man and his son worked a small farm, with only one horse to pull the plow. One day, the horse ran away. ‘How terrible,’ sympathized the neighbors. ‘What bad luck.’ ‘Who knows whether it is bad luck or good luck,’ the farmer replied.
A week later, the horse returned from the mountains, leading five wild horses into the barn. ‘What wonderful luck!’ said the neighbors. ‘Good luck? Bad Luck? Who knows?’ answered the old man. The next day, the son, trying to tame one of the horses, fell and broke his leg. ‘How terrible. What bad luck!’ ‘Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?’ answered the old man. The next day the army came to all of the farms to take the young men for war, but the farmer’s son was of no use to them, so he was spared." Title: Re: Poker gods work in mysterious ways! Title: Re: Poker gods work in mysterious ways! Post by: Grier78 on February 05, 2009, 06:17:12 PM Ive had some good luck and some bad luck, made some good decisions and some bad decisions. At the end of the day I am happy with what I have and wouldn't want to change anything in the past if it would risk what I have now. If you make the most of what you have and make positive changes when you can, then you can find happiness.

And that night, as they were celebrating, the son got drunk and tried to make himself a bacon sandwich at 2am, but left the gas on and burned down the house, killing himself and his father. Meanwhile the war got called off because of a waterlogged battlefield, so the soldiers went to a brothel to celebrate, where there was free beer. Title: Re: Poker gods work in mysterious ways!
