Title: The guy went totally nuts here
Post by: kukushkin88 on February 06, 2009, 12:35:54 PM
.......but my play is standard. I think? He was berating me for nearly 40 mins afterwards, probably the most unpleasant behaviour I've seen from a sober poker player (not relevant to the hand just a shame that the general standard of behaviour seems to be plummeting fast).

me 13.5k
button 5k
sb 11k

I make it 400 in an unopened pot with J8dd in late position at the 75-150 level, called on the button and in the small blind. Flop comes Qc10h5h sb checks I check, button makes it 400 sb calls I call. Turn comes 9s sb checks I make it 1500 called on the button and in the small blind. Qh on the end sb checks I check, button after a short pause then shoves in his last 2.7k. sb dwells forever and basically reveals with spech play he has the straight, he eventually calls. Action on me?

Prior to the hand the button has been talking alot about being bored how he's had enough of sitting around waiting for cards etc etc.

I'd prefer you to bet the flop than check call with only a gutshot. But I guess the bet was small and you were getting implied odds...

He wasn't as grateful as you'd have hoped given that he learnt a relatively inexpensive valuable lesson. ;-)

Looks fine to me, poker has its own form of natural selection. Thank god for players like sb who blame their lack of poker skills on others rather than themselves, we need them.

you'd hit him eventually though if he went on for 40 mins
