Post by: mondatoo on February 11, 2009, 11:35:21 PM So,although it's impossible to define the players range due to only 3 hands what do we generally put him on to limp pre then flat call twice and put in such a strong bet on the river ?

Title: Re: Sigh ????? Post by: totalise on February 11, 2009, 11:57:45 PM why is c/c better than bet/fold here
c/c is good when it snaps off missed draws, but what draws have missed? J8sooted I guess? whereas bet/fold gets value from all the second-best hands that these people have in their range that could too easily check the river, and its not like they often shove with worse. its a tournament afterall. For c/c to be better than b/f it feels like you would need to have a type of opponent that value-bets hands that would fold if you bet and would turn marginal made hands into bluffs.... which is hard to figure out after 3 hands. Is this typical for tourney players these days? I guess our hand is face-up, and a bet might get a jam from a hand like 10J/99, but are people really turning hands into bluffs this often, this early in tourneys? Title: Re: Sigh ?????
