vodafone is the fastest- You get 3G for £15 a month of which is plenty unless you surf for a lot of porn etc. 5G for £25, 3G is plenty IMO, go to their website and look at the coverage map to make sure you have a good signal first though.

I have played 4 tables loads and never had a problem.

And even if you are in a good signal area, you might not get a good signal. I got a mobile dongle from three and even though I was in London, in a top top top signal area, I was getting worse than 56k modem connect speeds.

Mobile dongles seems to be flaky as hell - I would not trust them for playing poker.

The only place I've had problems with poker on a Vodafone Dongle was Walsall, everywhere else I've been it's been great.

The provider definitely makes a difference they all have different speeds/coverage, I didn't get three because their reputation wasn't that great for signal etc. All I can say is I've never had a problem with vodafone when I've managed to get on their 3G signal, which is normally. They reckon they have the fastest 3G service in the UK, its probably not as fast as they say but I would rate it as good as a slow home broadband.

If you can I'd  borrow a mates dongle/usb stick and try the signal at home just to make sure it works.

Yeah I have an 8MB vodafone dongle. Never had any problems, as long as you aren't in the countryside!

The contract hurts though man, be careful with that...

Poker programs use very little bandwidth, but a constant signal is a must.

My Vodafone one is pretty flaky, I use it as a backup only.

Used a voda dongle whilst living in a camper. Some places in, say Central Croydon, were awful for signal, some rural area were great and I often played poker on it. I would never trust it for multi tabling though. Even good connections can drop.
