Title: Old Firm Seething Thread
Post by: Maxriddles on February 15, 2009, 10:13:59 AM
Thought this may come in handy later, hopefully by Celtic fans moaning about how wee GS got it so wrong.

I noticed the red dot is still on my setanta screen and wondered if the game is still being shown to non subscribers ?

Rick, Any game i've ever watched where 1 team wants to put 11 men behind the ball has been crap. Still if Mcdonald had stuck in that sitter then i'd have been happy enough.

A dull, timid affair with the draw being about the right result.

I was very disappointed with Rangers performance and approach to the game in the first half. I don't know why Walter Smith persists with these negative tactics as I really think Rangers would fair a lot better in the SPL by having a go at teams, Celtic included.

Can't believe Celtic let Scott Brown go back on after his injury, don't know where they got their club doctor as it was pretty obvious that Brown didn't have a clue where he was.

Should be a relatively peaceful night across Central Scotland at least and the mods shouldn't be too hard pushed either. Today's real winners must be the bookies, I'd imagine a no score draw must be their dream result in an old firm game.

Nah, I think a draw was a fair result both teams were pish.  Rangers turned up happy to get away with a point then realised how bad Celtic were playing and thought hang on we could have a dash at this.

Not really, everyone i spoke to before the game knew how pish both teams are at the mo, and most folk took the draw TBH, the boys in work and i managed to get 9/4 on it, with a few squeezing out a few 5/2's

would gladly have let Scott McDonald Fuck my bet tho!, pity he just travelled back from Japan late midweek

If Celtic are at home I can usually get me hands on one or 2 spares, I'd 2 friends from Germany at the game on Sunday.

[X] They enjoyed the atmosphere.
[  ] They enjoyed the game.
[  ] They were impressed with the standard of refereeing in Scotland.
[X] They spent the weekend pissed.

Disagree with the Bandit re CIS cup final - 17000 tickets for each support & 16000 Corporates mean it'll be a sellout. Unless you want to spend £100-£200 on a package to the game tickets will be scarce.

I can't believe there has been no seething by Tic fans about Motherwell's pitch, it is an absolute disgrace and they shouldn't be allowed to play SPL games there IMO. I go to a lot of games in the Juniors and haven't seen a pitch anywhere near as bad as Fir Park all season.

A minor seething point for Rangers fans from this game too, if Rangers fans belted out some of the chants the Motherwell fans did yesterday it would be all over the Scottish press and BBC news for the rest of the week. When will people realise it's not just Rangers fans, it's not just Old Firm fans, but all of the other clubs have fans who are partial to belting out some pretty vile stuff when the old firm come to visit, often of a sectarian nature. The problem with that though is doesn't get reported.

Title: Re: Old Firm Seething Thread
Post by: Scottish Dave on February 24, 2009, 10:25:06 PM
Correct Bandit, cant possibly blame the pitch, celtic should have seen this shite side off easily

Also, we cant really blame the pitch when it was only due to this pitch that we scored our goal, did you see the bobble it took just in front of Smith's feet lol, the pitch secured us 1 pt!

Strachan is a tosser, why play our best full back in Midfield, and put one of our best midfielders on the bench!

Don't think there'll be much seething on either side today as nobody seems too overly bothered about the league cup, it's nice to win but not all that important if you lose. I actually think this could be an entertaining game as both teams can play without fear. Hope it's a long way better than the last meeting in the league as that was a very poor advert for Scottish football.

Are you kidding??? I would be nervous if we were in a cup final with Celtic for tiddlywinks.... but anyway I hadnt been that bothered before I woke up now I'm starting to get Nervous/excited. Bougherra is out for us so I would tell anybody to back against us because he is a big blow-and in my opinion why we lost at home earlier was because he wasnt playing...But I just hope we can do it.....lets gogogogo

Agree with most of whats been said already, hopefully a more open, blood & snotters type game than the last couple as the pressures off somewhat. I was saying to the boys in work that they should put Lennon & McCoist in charge and just send them out to play 80's stylee

Pish!

Anyone that say's this game means fekk all is just scared to admit there true feeling cos both teams are playing shite and could lose this!

This is the most important game of the season so far for me!

All the other OldFirm games so far didn't really matter if you lost it, cos you will always make up the points against the smaller teams in the league, whereas this game is winner takes all, there is no making up points next week in this game today!

Its all or nothing today, first silverware of the season and its against your close rivals, and im fekking excited as fekk!

Been up since 8am on You Tube watching some old classics from years ago, getting into the mood!

Now.....where are all my Celtic CD's????

Better than the last 2 games. 90 mins was fairly even but in extra time there was only one team in it and we thoroughly deserved the victory.

Strange move by Smith to put Lafferty through the middle in the 2nd half as he was giving Hinkel a hard time on the left, even stranger to take him off for Boyd who was absolutely useless and lost O'Dea for the 1st goal. Mendes was anonymous again in an OF match as was Bawwy.

Not happy about saying it but Celtic deserved the win for their extra time performance. Better than last OF game but hardly a classic.

I think the ones that have been removed were fair enough tbh mate.  Could of become a total FARCE!

We all know the calibre they attract, they can try and score cheap points if they wish with their anti-republican propoganda pish, fk that excuses them of all the hate fuelled attacks their supporters have carried out over the years not only in Scotland but in almost every country that they have visited.
