Title: New boook review: Coming today Post by: TightEnd on November 26, 2005, 12:20:43 PM Sheriff has reviewed "The Professor, the Banker and the Suicide King" by Michael Craig and it can be found on the www.blondepoker.com home page sometime today
This review is so good, I am gagging to read the book. Sounds like fascinating stuff An ideal christmas present (via the blonde amazon link of course!). Anyone wanting my address, just PM. I'll pay postage! Title: Re: New boook review: Coming today Post by: MichaelCraig on December 07, 2005, 07:29:22 PM I was going to complain (a good-natured complaint to be sure) about getting only 7.5 points out of 10 in Sheriff's review of my book. It was such a great review - really nice, thank you - that it got me curious about what I had to do to get 10 of 10. But I saw the comment from a poster about how the review made him want to get the book, so I decided to hold off.
So thanks for the nice review and I'm glad you liked it. If you're at the Blogger's convention in LV on December 10, I'll be speaking, so please introduce yourself. I promise to share some good stories. Michael Craig Title: Re: New boook review: Coming today Post by: byronkincaid on December 07, 2005, 07:40:27 PM I enjoyed your book too. I read it after reading Greenstein's Ace on the River and most of the bits that I thought were very basic advice/filler in his book became clearer to me because your description of the big game made me realise what he was trying to say.

Michael Craig Hi Michael Nice of you to take the time to respond. I've tried to set the bar high with regard to my scores. Very few, if any, books will get 10. I've tried to pitch it so that anything above a 7 will have a fairly strong recommendation. The main reason for keeping the mark at 7.5 was simply that, as a non-instructional book, it won't particularly help anyone on here to improve their game. I anticipated that most of the readers of this review on here will probably be looking for books to do just that so, with that in mind, I didn't want to give it a higher score than, say, the Harrington book. I did comment in my introduction to the review section that I feel the awarding of a mark out of 10 is a 'necessary evil'. However, I've urged people to read the full reviews to get a full picture of my opinion and its particularly relevant in this case! If you pop back to the review section when there are a few more reviews up you'll probably see that a mark of 7.5 is a fairly hard score to achieve. At present the 3 reviews I've done are all for books I rate highly. I can guarantee that this WILL NOT be the case as more of them appear. Regards Sheriff PS: Unfortunately the Blogger's convention is about 5,000 miles too far away from me on Saturday. I'd love to hear your stories some day though! We are flattered that you took the time to visit blonde, & read Sheriff's excellent review. As Sheriff says, time will demonstrate that 7.5 points is nearly as good as it gets. I trust you will grace us with your presence at the blonde Bash? Title: Re: New boook review: Coming today Post by: RED-DOG on December 08, 2005, 01:28:18 AM The review made me want to buy this book
