grrr - had found a great deal through expedia for our upcoming vegas trip.  Went to book today and find that it's now gone up by £210 :(  Still cheaper than booking flights and hotel separately, but would like to shop around a bit first.  Have tried ebookers and lastminute - just wondered if anyone knew of any hidden gems of travel companies out there for good hotel+flight deals that I can take a look at before handing over the dosh. 

Despite Vegas tanking at the moment we don't get any of the benefit as the change in exchange rate absorbs all the savings.

FML - I must've put in the wrong dates - went to book the thing and did (what I thought was) same search, and it was back over the original quote for the following day :(  Whilst I've been waiting for funds to clear the costs of the flight has gone up by over £100 pp so that's the issue.  Anyway, have got direct flights and 7 nights at the venetian for just over £1500 for the two of us (was £1300 yesterday), so still not too bad all in all.

I'd book one of these rather than go for a 'poker rate' as these will be the same price and you will get bored playing in the same hotel the whole time running up the required hours. The advantage of this over booking via expedia etc is that you don't pay up front. I'd book something you fancy now and if you see a better deal closer to the date you can change it without charge, they basically charge you for the first night when you book, but refund if you cancel at least 3 days before.

Book your flight seperately and do it asap as prices will creep up. Kayak.com is the best site I've found, searches all the search engines as well as the airlines and gives you the ability to do a flexible search to best the best prices.

Don't book the two together you will get a better deal and can be more flexible about your accomodation options if you don't.

Virgin Atlantic have cheap(er) flights on offer for Vegas at the moment.

I'm looking at booking for 16nights in June,was just wondering if anyone can recommend any cheap/decent hotels within 10min walk or so of the venetain as plan to play the deepstack tourneys there mostly.Thanks

Bill's Gambling Hall is the best of the budget hotels in that area by far, the rooms are actually fairly decent, they can be a bit noisy if your not much of a night owl but if your gonna go to bed in vegas before 1am don't bother going IMO. Also its only a 3 min walk from room to street rather than a prolonged trek through the casino to get to the street like most casinos. They also have a comedy Elvis show for free and do great hotdogs right by the gaming floor mmm........ The rates do vary wildly depending on what convention is town, but can be very cheap. Its opposite Caesars and less than 10 mins to Venetian. The next step up in price and quality if you can afford would be the Flamingo.

Not great to be honest, if you do stay there don't stay in the cheapest rooms, stay in the next grade up, think its deluxe or something like that. The rooms are really tired and just generally a bit shabby. Great location though.

Yep but long way from venetian, you'll use taxis so won't save. If you give me your top five choices I can tell you what I think is best.

Erm, basically looking at the 2 you recommended or Imperial.TBH i ain't looking for out fancy just clean/cheap dbl bed is all i care for lol.Won't be in the room apart from sleeping so just standard room ftw.The location for me is most important part as i'm extremely lazy,plan to play mostly venetian + 1 or 2 wsop or bellagio events

Meh if your not arsed about the room just go for IP then. I've stayed there a couple of times, it was just about acceptable but I doubt I'd stay there again. A word of advice if you are planning on playing any table games there, get a players card and make sure you play them all in Harrah's properties. Next time you go out there you will be able to get money off the rooms based on that. I can basically go and stay at the IP for close to free whenever I go, or get a nice chunk of the other properties.

LOL I doubt you plan on playing table games but you will end up doing it at some point drunk so just get a card.

IP is 580 for deluxe room for 17nights,might just snap that up now

Well not if its sold out LOL. They may have it available on certain days and you can change room at some point. I'd call them up, that's how I normally do it. Don't forget there is tax on top of that price 7% I think?

   Been doing a bit of research into hotels for Oct for a mates wedding,usual places,expedia,fatwallet etc(thks for the tip on smartervegas,good site) and have found some decent rates but most deals end in Sept so i will have to wait for a while till new codes appear.However i have found a rate of £395 for 7 nights at Pl.Hollywood on the dates i want which is £500 cheaper than expedia and opposite the Bellagio where the wedding party are staying(mbn).
    My question is do you think the arse will fall out of hotel prices in the coming months or am i being to much of a life nit?

Seems like a decent price for that hotel to be honest, deals normally appear nearer the time but there is never a guarantee. If you can get that price direct with the hotel just book it and change it later if you get a better offer, they charge for 1 night when you book but you can cancel up to 3 days before and be refunded the deposit.

LOL I just booked the Flamingo for 6 nights in May for $87 in total for the full stay with taxes included. Just goes to show what you can get if you use your players card if you play table games.

yeah I've got 10 nights in Harrahs in June for a total of $240 - no doubt due  to my 3 card poker sessions with the Duke!!

13 nights for $2050, not bad. I now have 3 hotels booked and dunno what to do LoL
