Title: Champions League - Quarter Finals - draw
Post by: kinboshi on March 20, 2009, 09:20:34 AM
Is at 11am our time (unless you aren't here).  Last year, the draw was 'leaked' and people knew exactly what it was going to be before the draw was made (or was it just a lucky guess).

As a Liverpool fan, I'd be happiest with Villareal or Porto, but (cliché alert) there are no easy games at this stage of the competition.  Wouldn't be too upset drawing Barca to be honest, and I'd prefer that to drawing another Premiership side.  If we have to draw manu, I'd rather have them in this round or the semis than in the final.

What are others' thoughts?

I want two all-English ties, get two of them out of the competition.

It just seems rubbish if one country dominates.

...and the Spanish clubs don't have loads of overseas players, ditto Bayern, ditto any of the top leagues.

Man Utd should make the final after a pretty favourable draw for them, I reckon they will be pitted against Liverpool or Barca in the final. If Liverpool get there, I see them winning it.

But then Italians, Spaniards etc have no argument against our league being the best in the world.

All English semi final ftw - though maybe with Barca replacing gooners

They don't need to argue, everyone knows the Spanish is the greatest league there is, with Italy 2nd, and EPL a distant 3rd!

Standard

It's been dominated by one country or another since 1998 bar the odd season. No one said a word before it was England's turn.

Ahhh my bad!

I'd love to see an all English semi-final next season. Would piss Platini right off. Joy!
