Title: I knew something was off with the RP tipster result section Post by: boldie on March 20, 2009, 05:37:10 PM For a while now I thought "Man, the RP is on a good run"...turns out that actually not soo much.
Email I sent to the racingpost; Good afternoon, I have always loved your publication..both online and the news paper. Could you try to ensure though that the little RP sign that you put up when you have tipped a winner only comes up when you have actually tipped the winner of that race? An example from today's (20-03) racing; Lingfield 2.30 Spotlight verdict is as follows; SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Not much to go on here. Simplification should go well for an in-form team but she's had a few chances and preference is for KEEP RINGING, who shaped better than the bare result on her racecourse debut and who is open to plenty of improvement.[RY] Actual winner was 1 7 Kaabari (USA) SP 13/2 Lingfield 3.05 SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: This looks between Northern Empire and RUSSIAN SYMPHONY. While the latter's long losing run is a worry, he may be less inconveninced by a potentially muddling race over this trip than Kevin Ryan's sprinter and he gets the nod for that reason.[RY] Actual winner was; 1 2 Northern Empire (IRE) SP 4/9F 4.15 SPOTLIGHT VERDICT: Largely exposed sorts and a race that could go to BASRA, a consistent sort with a recent C&D win to his name and he's fancied to beat Emperor Court and Old Romney.[RY] actual winner was; 1 5 Royal Amnesty SP 15/2 Etc, etc, etc. I guess you can see where I'm going with this one. It's the one thing that drives me absolutely nuts, tipsters claiming wins when they never actually had one. I would really appreciate it if you could sort this out so I can enjoy the tremendous service you offer without pulling my hair out. Regards, Peter edit; it doesn't copy the little RP logo in this post...but their website claims them all as tipped up winners...and they've been doing this for a while which is why I looking into it. drives me nuts. To: That hairy German Dwarf Dear We have looked into your complaint and whilst investigating it, we were contacted by Mr Ralph (I want to come back as Arsene Wenger's Gusset when i die) Karabiner. Mr Karabiner has told us that you are running a secret tipping service funded by anonymous people with more money than brains .. (his words not ours). Arsene's gusset added that before you came along with this service, he was the "Daddy" of the tips board and he is not happy with you taking the limelight, he told us that he is now limited to tipping up 12 year old female golfers from Korea and that he fears for his reputation.... He also tipped us the wink that Ian Poulter will win a major, although it was at that point we instantly dismissed his complaint and sent him a web link for psychiatrists in his locale. We were also contacted by Mr Keith (boldie gives me the hump) Camel, he claimed that your secret squirrel activities had tilted him so hard that he has had to resort to starting his own thread where he uses some kind of points system to confuse the numpty bloke from Colchester and disguise the monetary value of his bets. Mr Hump also stated that he had found an untapped golden seam in "Rick (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=375) Trigg (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=375)" adding that "Trigg couldn't price up tins of beans at Tesco" !! In short (excuse the pun) we feel that your complaint was a waste of effort on everyones part and we intend to just ignore you Thanks Racing post. yes had a reply that came down to "if anyone mentioned it in the paper we'll say we tipped it"..since they have a whole host of tipsters working every day they should be able to claim every winner of every race. WP them.
