Title: Irish open M/E proposal - offer changed!
Post by: Numpty Dumpty on March 24, 2009, 05:34:43 PM
Hey Guys,

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tom (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2870) Rutter (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=2870).

I am looking for staking in the Irish Open main event - a 3500 Euro event running from 10th-13th of April with a one hour clock and 10k starting stack. The open is well known as being an extremely soft standard for the size of the tournament, with many online qualifiers and local irish players.

So far this year I have been on good form, final tabling 3 ranking tournaments in january and february, including a £7000 win in Broadway casino, Birmingham, heads up against Sunny Chatta. My other live performance of note was in May last year, when I finished 4th in the M/E of the Nottingham leg of the GBPT for £12500.

Here is my Live Track Record - http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=67235

My Full  (http://blondepoker.com/index.php?q=node/12206)Tilt (http://blondepoker.com/index.php?q=node/12206) MTT OPR record shows an ROI of 261% over the last 120 days, finishing in the money in 21 of 88 MTTs played, and winning 6 (5 of these being 45-seater MTTs, the most recent being $14000 for 1st/462 in a $50 single rebuy and add on tournament) Looking at only this year my ROI rises to 373% (though from only 44 tournaments played).
My Pokerstars OPR record is significantly weaker, though only stretches to 7 tournaments!

Here is my Tilt OPR record - http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/fulltiltpoker/NumptyDumpty23/poker/statistics/FD447A18ADDF4B1AB2118C6CE9C525BD.html?t=8

So.. enough of the self-promotion. Here is the offer..

I am now offering to sell 50% of myself at a rate of 45 euros per 1%. This works out as 1.428/1 (1.28/1). I realise this is a fairly high rate, but considering the relative weakness of the field, the good structure of the event, and my recent form, I believe it is fair.

So..Prices..              2% - 100 euros (now changed - 90 euros)
                             5% - 250 euros (now changed - 225 euros)
any other percentage you want - i'm sure you can do the maths!

For euro-£ conversion purposes I will be using the converter on http://www.xe.com/ucc/

Please let me know of any interest/questions/put-downs, either on here or via PM

Tom

That's why I'll pass.

1.429/1 not for me as it's a bit too high a premium when you don't have a proven track record in £1000+ buy-in events.

Good luck though, hope you bink thooosands and make me sick.

hey dave, cheers for the support! dont think i will be dropping the mark-up, as i am led to believe there is significantly more value in this tournament than in most others. you will be first to know if i change my mind though mate! see u in london

Tom, I know you're obv good value vs the field here, but it can get very crapshooty towards the end, gl anyway.

lol, kind of a fair point, but this buy in is still well outside my bankroll!

more to the point, will YOU stick up any of YOUR money? as in will you actually be turning up to an event?

ok guys, here's the upgraded offer!

1% = 45euros (=~£41.65) = 1.28/1

let me know if that sounds any better to you.

afraid its really not going lower, for reasons stated previously. i do understand that it is still a fairly big mark-up, but in this instance would rather under (or not) sell than drop further - just feel like there is too much value to warrant it! i apologise if this sounds cocky, but i really do believe it

Not trying to piss on your parade, but I have played the Irish Open 3 times and I found the field a far bit tougher than the average big European tournament.

Doesn't sound cocky - just a bit silly really
