If we get enough interest, we can get licenses for Holdem Manager (HEM) at a discounted rate (possibly a 20% discount).  It normally costs $80 to purchase, so that would reduce the price to $64.  You can find out more about the software here: http://www.holdemmanager.net/  and you can download a trial version that will run for 15 days before you have to buy.

This would be useful for anyone who's thinking of doing the trial for the SAS scheme, those who play cash on blonde or really for anyone who plays cash online.  I'm sure it's also useful for those who play STTs and MTTs - but I don't know (I'll let someone else give their advice on that one).  We'll also be posting up a thread on how to get started with HEM, and I'm sure some of the more experienced blondes will be able to provide advice on how to get the most out of it, etc.

To get the discount, we'd need a minimum of 25 people to show an interest.  So if you're interested, please add your name on this thread and we'll take it from there.

I know that it's called holdem manager but does anyone know if it works for omaha too ?

No it doesn't.  They plan to add Omaha in the future. They've said a few months, but I'm not confident that it will be done by then.

I was about to post this as I know that not everyone plays holdem.

Does it work on a desktop & laptop? ie one licence fro the two machines,  then how would you merge the databases?

You could run one database and connect to it from the other machine. (I haven't tried that)

Sorry, I don't think discounts can be applied retrospectively.

You can licence HEM to two machines, which is a good job as I bought it, licenced it to my laptop, imported 100k+ hands, then laptop died, fml.

erm....how do you import hands from blonde? I don't have it yet and am VERY easily confused at the best of times...but it mentions; Importing "files" in the FAQ. Which files? Or is it just a matter of opening up blonde and telling HoldEm manager to go look for my last X amount of hands?

The hands on your hard drive, should be poker then blonde poker then history the login name then tournament and then import those files.

Cool...didn't even know this stuff was saved on my lappie...(which is a works lappie so that's just grand ;))

could any techie type help me out, i tried installing the postgre sql and its fecked my computer now i cant re download the package and my temp file no longer accepts save files

ok well I am at the part of installing the postgreSQL file, i got click happy and ahead of myself, and i need to remove /un install it or write over it, however now ehen i click the download link i get

C:\Users\Billy\AppData\Local\Temp could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred.

Can anyone give a more detailed explanation of how it will track STTs.  I have done a trial before with the beta tourney add on and when I played with the HUD it slowed my pc down, even tho I dont have an ancient PC or anything was weird and as a complete newbie to it gave up and uninstalled (doh).

Any info from someone who uses it in this capacity would be great.

We can try, but 25 is there usual minimum.  They were advising us to buy 100 licenses and then take it from there!

Actually ive just downloaded the trial so that gives 15 days, so just hope we get 25 by then :)

I'm not, but you can use something like Eyepoker to do that (not sure if it's allowed by the sites or not).  I'd be interested to see who uses what and how effective they are.

the other thing with pt that may be an advantage for those with no experience of tracking software is that the trial period is 60 days so plenty of time to decide whether you like running it or not

For PT2 it was, PT3 is 60 days.

Just had a good play about with the trial. Really like it, first impressions are its a lot easier to manipulate data than poker tracker.

Doesn't seem to be able to pick up the stake for Party tournaments so just records them all as freerolls.

Also turns out i'm a loser in sngs and a winner in cash. Was convinced it was the other way round.

Im having problems with this now :(
I was updating hand histories and it froze my lappie, rebooted and now it will not conect to database.
Tried following a couple of there fixes for this and still no good, if i cant fix this problem i will have to come of the list.
Anyone else had any problems connected to the db?

Maybe your database is corrupted.

Create a new one and try reimporting.

I'm going to have to withdraw from this i'm afraid.

Hi Andrew, I cant even fire up Holdem Manager as it cant connect to the database, ive followed all the faqs on holdem manager but still no joy.
I really wanted to get this sorted but i have no idea how.
I might unistall and re-install everything tonight and see what happens.

Well, we're getting close to the point where a lot of people will need to be purchasing Holdem Manager as their trial period runs out, and it looks like we're going to fall short of the 25 we need to qualify for the discount.

I'll give it a few more days to see if there's any further interest, and to see if we can reach the 25.  I'm aware that some have already requested to be removed from the list as well, so it looks like we need 7 more people...

Right, my trial version has expired - and I imagine that a few other people's are about to as well?

We're still at least half a dozen people short of qualifying for a group discount so it looks like we'll unfortunately have to purchase it (or PT3) at full price.

Well not really what i meant, just that Celticgeezer is advising blondes other ways to get HEM on the cheap. I would be very surprised if the mods would have allowed this on page1 of this thread.

There are other ways blondes can get hold of HEM, some of them mean you can get it for free.  It's easy enough to search for these on the web, but none of them are particularly helpful to blonde or for people looking to trial and take part in the SAS scheme.
