Night 1,

Toffoc Count - 6
Maccy D's Count - 5
Hands Played - 10 (and Claw's up a few mad dimez)

Picked up JonMW and Claw from the train station and straight to the Harbourside Casino.

Names on the list for the cash games, Claw playing in the high-rollers league and the rest of us lol Bingoments level.

Claw sits down with her dimez from the 3-card-poker table after picking up AAx 2nd hand MBSFN and proceeds to lose the will to carry on. With the waiting list for the smaller game looking longer than Flushy and Channings stakee list, we give up and head off with a mad craving for Maccy D's.

Joobie's "driving" is very much like that of Lewis Hamilton's with his current lemon, so fun to be had by all (with the addition of several extra seat belts.)

With music blaring out at a level to drown out even the most hardcore of Boy Racers from Southend we arrive at Maccy D's. However, with this being the car of Julie "ADD" Holness, the music is an eclectic mix of German Rock Dance music and "Superman" and "Music Man".

We have officially found the slowest drive-thru in Maccy D's history, taking over 30 mins to order, pay and collect our food (kindly staked by dimez winner Claw wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii). So with nothing better to do, Joobie whacks the volume up to monumental levels and we all start doing the dance moves (except for an exceedingly embarrassed JonMW).

Home for Maccy D's more toffoc and a discussion about tits and asses and the state of Claw's new PJ's with the plunging neck-line and we are well on our way to passing out in preparation for tomorrow.

Joobie, Sharplea, Claw, JonMW and Tuffster

here's one for the lads.  Joobs was just looking around for her flip flops to go out to feed her rabbit.  No joy, so she stuck on the nearest footwear she could find, which happened to be thigh-high PVC boots.  Enjoy!

Day 2 had one simple theme to it. EPIC FAIL.

EPIC FAIL 1: Breakfast.
EPIC FAIL 2: The actual playing of the poker.
EPIC FAIL 3: Joobie "helping" Des
EPIC FAIL 4: Bowling.

The day had started off well (see above for pics of rabbits, PVC and DD's) until the motley crew of chefs that were Joobie, Tuffster and Jon MW decided to "cook" breakfast. Somehow, it took 45 minutes to cook a fry-up and this involved near total loss of Mushrooms, misplacement of Sausages and rather well-done Bacon. It took longer to cook the breakfast than it did for the tour members (minus a visibly ill sharplea) to eat it.

The team then piled into the car and proceeded forcewith to the local Morrisons to fill the car up and pick up the fuel cap that Joobie managed to leave there yesterday, impressive. By now, it is 1pm and Claw is wanting to get to the bar whereas sharplea just wants to get there. Joobie then proceeded to drive at Mach 1.5 and we were there by 1.50pm, managing to drive past the casino front door with Joobie, Tuffster and Claw singing (and dancing) very very loudly to "Music Man" by Agadoo. Jon MW and sharplea have never felt so embarrassed in their lives.

The less said about the actual poker playing, the better. By break 1, Joobie and Tuffster had donked off half their starting stack, with sharplea grinding it out at exactly average whilst Claw and Jon MW were doing a little bit better (expected). Tuffster busted soon after losing most of his chips with K-Q vs 10-10, we race bad. The rest of the team made it to the dinner break, where we all found that the food was shit. Joobie busted about 5 hands into the second session with a very poorly played A-Q, letting her opponent hit trip 9's on the turn. Jon MW ran his A-Q into fellow Blonde AndrewT's 10-10 on a Q-10-x flop and this left Claw (on 25k) and sharplea to carry the pressure of the team's hopes and dreams. Claw found the pressure too much (she fell unluckily) and sharplea decided to take a leaf out of Julian Thew's book, yo-yoing from 20k to 7k, then 14k to 1200, then 4k and eventually busted in horrible circumstances when he shoved A-A UTG short and ran into Turny's J-9, which straightened up on the turn, and the whole team was out by 10.15pm. Ouch.

This left a very frustrated team with nothing to do as there were no cash games, no Tighty SNG's and we couldn't even go down to Bristol to play cash as their waiting list was massive, leading to a situation where Joobie commandeered Des Duffy's laptop to show the man the game of Clusterz, but she got distracted by Sky Poker which led to a complete and utter total laptop failure, resulting in a full restart and delays to the updating whilst Joobie hid behind a chair when Des returned!! Claw then had an epic brainwave which consisted of the whole team plus recent addition AndrewT to head next door where there was a bowling alley. After 10 minutes of arguments over who would find out the opening times, sharplea was dispatched to phone them (laziness FTW) and was informed by a lovely automated voice that they were open until 1am. We all headed next door only to find out that they actually closed at 12midnight, and as it was 11.40pm there was no chance we could get a game! We headed into the arcade area where Claw showed her lack of ability at Superbikes, Joobie won at Dance Dance Revolution and sharplea pwned Tuffster and Jon MW at pool. AndrewT disappeared for 2 minutes and reappeared with an ice-cream of all things at midnight! Hollywood Bowl kicked all us out soon after and we headed to the casino, where the mutual decision was made to return home.

Joobie managed to get us home in one piece, quicker than we actually got there! The rest of us are still trying to work out how.

Epic Fail 1

Breakfast

This is the breakfast as it was served

Which was cosmetically okay - until Claw pointed out there were no sausages!!!!!!!

To the great relief of all concerned, the sausages had actually been cooked and weren't hiding in the freezer.
Joobie had just forgotten to take them out of the grill and put them on the plate.

This was the 'corrected' breakfast - with the forgotten sausages.

Despite such a farcical fail in presentation the actual breakfast wasn't lacking in content
Fry Up Ingredients
Eggs
Bacon
Sausages (eventually)
Mushrooms
Beans
Black Pudding
Hash Browns
and Fried Bread

So, alls well that ends well.
Obv.

Dinner Break
Jon MW - Folds KQ to get near the front of the buffet queue
Tuffster - May have actually busted out deliberately to ensure the same result
The rest - fail to comprehend, that at this point, positional play means what you position you get in the queue

Jon raised on the button with AQ off, Andrew flat called in the bb with 10 10 and c/raised all in on a Q 10 7 flop two diamonds

Jon looked sick, but made the call, but no miracle came

[ x ] Really unlucky

{Although, slight correction to the reporting. I was the bb and check raised post flop - AndrewT then reraised me all in.}

Day 4

We're one member down and after last nights "fun" we've resorted to a morning of crazy poker before heading to Weston beach to eat icecream by the slighty singed pier.

The rules for this form of poker are simple, you HAVE to see a flop with any A or any 2, pocket A's or 2's are an instant all in.

the results to follow.............

Although weirdly Tuffster lasted longer in this tournament playing this way than when he usually does when he's trying to play 'properly'

Okey dokey, lets see.

I have a friend who is particularly fond of Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues as an accompaniment to nocturnal romantic activity.

My question to the abixes would be, do you have any particular tracks that you're fond of for the aforementioned purpose?

Day 4 Trip to the seaside

Started with a nice 'friendly not at all competitive' game of crazy golf,  to be honest i was SOOO much better than the others nearly managing to hit a hole in one on hole 5 while playing hole 2. meta-game IMO. So completely ignoring the final scores, i won, And celebrated by buying Icecream, which started to dissolve in the rain.

Next stop, The arcade, After little or no success with the fruit machines we moved on to the old fashioned penny pushers, now thinking of the big win i started on the 10p ones and bust shortly after due to poor bankroll management. Everyone else was a little more sensible and stuck to the comfort of 2p, Tuffster gambled his small profit for a ceramic gargoyle.  MW and Sharplea and Me Played pinball now I'm sure some cheating went on coz somehow I lost.  The Driving Game proved that all is well with the world when the Drivers beat the non drivers!!

On the way home we stopped off at the best chip shop in Weston. now we had a MINOR FAIL, when i got back in the car,  key in the bag of chips and the chip fork in the ignition!! oops

Mine and Sharplea's Hero status grew considerably when we became honorary traffic officers on the scene of Minor RTA on the way home, funny how you stand in the road tell someone to stop when there is clearly an incident and they still try and drive through you!

Spot the golf ball fail competition to follow.....

The REAL Day 4 - Final Day of the Tour

After expectedly losing one member of the tour party due to train and family commitments, the remaining four members converged on Weston-super-Mare for a day of debauchery and arguments. Despite the weather being the worst of the whole tour, we started with a nice relaxing game of Crazy Golf. MW took an early lead after the first 3 holes as the rest of the "Oatibixes" struggled to find their lines and hit their straps. It all fell apart for the lone remaining female member of the team after this, with one notable incident seeing her nearly decapitate a poor young girl on hole 7...we were playing on hole 4. Cries of "Epic Fail!" and "FARCE!" were soon heard throughout the course, with the group in front soon picking up on it and joining us in the usage of "Epic Fail!" everytime someone missed an easy shot. Despite hitting 2 hole in ones, MW proceeded to get the jitters between holes 16-18, and this cost him 2nd place. A hole in one saw Tuffster steal second from MW, but sharplea was the deserved winner overall, averaging 2.2 per hole over the last 10 holes in a solid display of putting to win by 6 strokes from Tuffster, with Jon MW a further 2 strokes back and Joobie dead last, having taken 23 more shots than the overall winner (and it would have been more had we not implemented a maximum score of 6 shots per hole). We then all proceeded to fail on the 19th hole and nobody won a free game.

Final scores:

sharplea - 53
Tuffster - 59
Jon MW - 61
Joobie538 - 76

As punishment for losing, Joobie bought all the icecream and we proceeded to head to the 2 arcades left in Weston after the rest burnt down with the pier. We all failed with the fruit machines and Joobie headed over to the penny pushers whilst the rest of us milled around before deciding to join her. We all failed at those as well apart from Tuffster, who exchanged £3 in 2p's for a miniature gargoyle which sadly did not come to life. Jon MW then proceeded to thrash everybody at Pinball and we headed for the only 4 player game in the arcade - Sega Rally. In a flash of inspiration, Tuffster proceeded to choose the 1 seat and thrash everybody, with Joobie, sharplea and Jon MW very close behind in that order. It was noted that the 2 and 3 seats were un-adjustable and locked into the very front - not helpful for sharplea and Joobie who were the 2 tallest people there and were therefore forced to drive with their knees against the steering wheel, and the 4 seat was unlockable, and as such MW kept slipping off his accelerator, hence the flash of inspiration in guaranteeing victory by Tuffster's seat choosing.

We then reacquainted ourselves with the car and headed home via the best chip shop in Weston, but even this wouldn't be an Oatibix tour without some sort of FARCE. In an act of idiocy not seen since the 1200's, Joobie proceeded to try and drive off using a chip fork as a car key whilst eating her chips using the bloody key! Cue "Epic Fail!", "FARCE!", and a red face from the designated driver (only one insured for the car). She then proceeded to drive home via the sightseeing way, which turned out to be a big mistake when we came across what appeared to be a man knocked off his bike by a van and seizing. The car was instantly pulled over, with chips ignored for ambulance calls. Joobie and sharplea proceeded to offer assistance whilst MW and Tuffster wisely (in their opinion) stayed put firmly in the back of the car eating their chips. After an ambulance was called for, sharplea cajoled Joobie into traffic officer duties as the accident was right on a busy junction in the middle of rush hour. At least it wasn't a four-way junction! Weston's drivers proved completely useless at following instructions, with one old man appearing to not understand the simple signal of Stop and attempting to run Joobie over. Amazingly, it got worse as the ambulance arrived due to rubberneckers and we now understand completely why the police hate it when people rubberneck. After about 20 minutes and aching shoulders, all was restored with the injured man being removed safely to the back of the ambulance and the ambulance clearing the blocked junction, which meant that we could stand down having managed to not cause carnage and keep traffic moving without too much delays on both sides.

We headed home and Tuffster and Jon MW left soon after on their respective 3-4hr journeys home at 7pm, leaving an empty house, one relieved shy cat, and a feeling of success that the weekend (not the poker) turned out really well.

Watch this space for tour number 2 - to be organised!

(I am aware that we were going to have a "spot the golf ball fail" competition, but the pics are on my phone and in a farcial display, the thing is refusing to charge. So when I get it fixed, I'll upload the photos, well, all 2 of them!)
