Think your confusing me with someone else - never been involved in any voting thing?

Mucho congrats - know just how you feel  ;)  My U10s went P14 W13 D0 L1.

You moving up to 11-a-side next season? That pitch looks soooo big....

Even though the kids are young, I'm sure this kind of team success will stay in each and every one of their memories for the rest of their lives.

Well done for getting them there.

Thanks guys.
Just to touch on the subject a little bit more.  We finished 2nd last season, 7 points behind the champions who stayed unbeaten.  During the presentation evening there was an awful lot of 'gloating' going on by some people.

This season however, we finished with a record of P21 W 15 D 3 L 3 F 43 A 5 Pts 48
We remained unbeaten against last seasons winners, beating them twice and drawing once.

The only downside to a memorable season was losing in the semi-finals of the cup on penalties, but that gives us a little something extra to aim for next season.

Very solid defensively (i was a keeper, all the best teams are built around being solid defensively!!!!).  17 clean sheets in 21 games is fairly impressive.
We had a run in the middle of the season where we only scored 3 goals in 5 games (3 1-0 wins and 2 0-0 draws).  Amazingly our last 3 results were 7-0, 6-0 and 3-0 so we had only scored 27 goals in our first 18 games!

Next season we move to 11-a-side and will be entering a much tougher league.  It is going to be a real test to bring in 4 or 5 new boys, gel them together and make them all understand the offside law!!!!

Matt, have you done any of the FA courses? I'm just a Dad-coach but I'm thinking of doing the Level 1.

Our goalie's Dad is a UEFA 'A' who works in the Championship!!! No pressure on me then...

I have done my Level 1 badge, but mainly just use some of the training sessions that they teach you there which are quite good.  It is a very basic course really mainly for people that havent played the game but are looking to get involved with coaching

I am quite lucky that i played Ryman league football, so have played for some very good managers and coaches so i have picked up quite a bit along the way.

It can be very intimidating taking a coaching session with someone like that watching - at our club we have 2 UEFA A coaches and whenever they are watching me put on a session it always worries me that i might do something wrong!!!

Congrats Matt, though wtf at the lack of goals at both ends. My memories of playing u10 football was that most games had at least 4 or 5 goals in them if not more.

I'm guessing you're older than 21 Longy....

In '98ish the English FA mandated that no-one under 11 was allowed to play 11-a-side football with full size goals any more. They now play mini-football on a roughly half-size pitch with 12'x6' goals.

We still managed to score 72 times in 14 games - won the first game 10-3.

Aaaah well i never knew that, makes a lot of sense tbf. As standard tactics were to shoot high in that age group as the keepers couldn't reach it.
