We start with a chat about the Monte Carlo Millions - no footage, but we discuss Phil Ivey's incredibe play, Paul Jackson's amazing performance, Team Bad Beat, & Phil Hellmuth moaning. And moaning. And moaning.

Filmed footage from the Midland Masters at Walsall, including interviews with Micky Wernick & Barny Boatman BEFORE the Final. Interviews with most of the Finalists, including a lovely chat with Barny, & a good interview from the winner, Darren Grosvenor.

A "Profile" of Micky Wernick, & a chat about him.

Filmed footage, and a chat, from the UPL Students v Pros Grand Final, including interviews with Pascal Perrault, Joe Grech, & Lucy Rokach.

Plus the usual stuff, Competition, and a look at the European Rankings which have changed dramatically this week.

nice looking forward to it.

Out of interest, who won the Monte Carlo event?  I only caught the start of it when THE ENGLISHMAN was doing well.

edit: dammit, cant remember who the English guy was - Barney, Devilfish - one of those two wasnt it - Barney yes?

Phil Ivey won it in a canter, & made one of THE most breathtaking plays when Heads-Up (against Paul Jackson, himself no mug) I have ever seen. The man's awesome.

Thre one you were looking at Silo was an inviitational which cost £120,000 to enter Ivey won it, and Ivey also won the MCM earlier in the week a cool $1 million

But don't get confused between the Monte Carlo Millions "prooper" & the "Invitational" that followed it. I THINK yiou are talkling about the latter, which was shown "live". Phil Ivey won THAT one, too....!

cheers :)  The more I see Phil Ivey playing the more I get to like him (in a poker way)  I know its obvious cos he's a big name pro, but he is definatly one of the best out there :)

Yeah the one on Thursday on Sky Sports about 11pm.

£120k to enter eh, maybe next year ;)

Where was Ed Giddings last week? Anyone know - definitely needs 2 to make the show flow.

Where was Ed last week? There was some confusion over the recording day, apparently. He thought it was Wednesday, but it's recorded on a Tuesday these days. It does not work without someone - anyone probably - in the Presenters Chair, & I think Compo was very professional, he just ran a 20 minute show & then wrapped it up, like the true pro he is.

For those not in the loop, "wormster"  - aka "The Dummy" - is the Producer of Poker 425. He finished 3rd or 4th in this week's blonde Tourney.

Why "The Dummy"? When we do in-depth interviews, we only use one camera. So after it's finished, they take another series of filmed bits showing the interviewer asking the questions, & nodding wisely. (Hence, these are known by the Pros as "The Noddies"). Whenever I do an interview, The Wormster sits in the "subjects chair" when I do the Noddies, so that I have the correct eye-line upion which to focus. Hence, "The Dummy"......

Anyway, all being well, this week's show WILL be shown tonight......

I was in a cardroom that was showing Channel 425 last night, & they spent the whole evening ribbing me mercilessly about the upcoming programme. Luckily, someone used the wrong tape, & I got away with it. Lucky tikay..... An extraordinary cardroom, and an extraordinary night, too, but that's another story.

wow just watching this weeks 425 i never knew walsall was an ept event if i had known that i might have come down

or doesnt anyone notice mistakes and retake a shot

Title: Re: poker 425

I spotted Dave's  "EPT" error & asked if we could re-record it, but Dave reckoned he'd "dug himself out of it". We had time pressures this week as well - Dave had to be elsewhere at 5pm, & there were some technical problems with the "VT edits" which severely delayed the recording.

The Rankings "voiceover" was also all to cock.

Apologies from all at Poker 425.

Bring back Ted Giddens.

No no no - you are thinking of a guy who used to be called "The Worm" - Micky Wernick. But he does not go by that name now.
