Title: Dog Owners - the greatest dog toy ever

http://www.petsathome.com/find/category-is-2+dog/category-is-2j+toys/product-is-V00078

Just got a naughty little puppy in the last few weeks and have found the best toy ever. Basically its a chew toy where you wedge a bit of food inside and very slowly the dog can get bits of the grub. I wedged a bit of ham and sausage in there and my little pup spent hours trying to get it out, every 5 minutes or so a little chunk of ham would fall out to keep his interest.

Lots of fun, rewards at the end, stops him biting the carpets up and burns all the calories he would have put on with the extra food. Life saver

Silly question but; Doesn't it teach him to bite stuff as food will come out if you keep at it long enough?

Not really, even though you really want to discourage the mutt tearing up your house, especially as a puppy its much more about redirecting their teething than stopping it. Its about letting the dog know what they can bite and what they cant.

They are very good... it's the only toy we've bought our youngest dog that she hasn't totally destroyed in about ten minutes!!

We looked after a rescued dog for a week.  It was a mastiff/great dane cross.  We got the biggest Kong on the market, and she still destroyed it.  She did love it though - she was just a monster.

My dog is a medium sized- springer spaniel and it also still demolished this!!!

Apart from toys though the only other thing my dog chews in the house is my black socks- which he steals from the washing basket...still a pain in the Ar$e though never having any socks.

my dogs and my brothers devoured everything we got them, then my bro happened to find a load of rubber bullets, they have not been able to damage at all in over a year.

If you get the super tough black ones they are impossible to destroy.

I've got loads for Ronnie. I fill them with meat and freeze them and they take ages for him to eat.

He loves em.

But have to agree with Red. Marrow bones are the best chews anywhere.

Yep, was the big black one.  Destroyed it.

Where do you get the brontosaurus bones for Ronnie?

Destroyed the black one?? I'm shocked tbh.

Mind you Ronnie doesn't spend hours chewing them because he gets marrow bones for that. Once he's got his breakfast out he's back to the bones.

They come straight from the butchers. A complete half cow's leg. Once he's demolished the outside you can saw it in to short pieces for them to get at the marrow. Keeps 'em quiet for hours.

I don't care how tough a dog's jaws are they will never get through one of them.

Next time you have the Mastiff I'll get one for you.
