Met him a few times when he was manager of Enfield, and although I never saw him play in the flesh I have seen footage and heard many testimonials to his talent... The fact that the great Bill Nicholson once said that Neighbour was one of the first names on his team sheet despite several other options, purely because he knew whenever Neighbour took to the field you would get 90 minutes of 110% effort, is some tribute !!

It used to be a standing joke at the lane that there wasnt one single blade of grass on the pitch that Jimmy Neighbour hadnt covered !!

RIP Jimmy Neighbour

Haven't seen him play really, but my old man said he was a good winger.

RIP Jimmy

you are right Kev,he was a willing worker all day long.Managed to watch him quite a bit as visits to Carrow Road were a regular occurance for me in late 70's.Just checked on t'internet to see if my memory was correct and it was..he played in the same Norwich team as Chivers and Peters.....not a bad trio to watch from the stands.

Fk me, he was only 58 !!  was recovering from a hip replacement op, and suffered a heart attack.
