Title: 'must read' experiment - part 2!
Post by: ezzo on April 14, 2009, 07:52:08 PM
Ok, so this is a continuation of my previous post concerning the 45 coin flips with only 2 wins. This is not a 'poker is rigged' post nor is it a post giving out any suspicions. It is simply the facts over the past weeks

The story so far. On the 'villian poker site'i had 45 all in coin flip situations and only won 2 of them. The odds of this are in the high millions but i guess thats variance - hmm

So i switched to Cake Poker and played 44 tornys and recorded all of my coin flips. in each case, the criteria is that i have to be all in preflop. The results were as follows:

38 coin flips and i won 19 - this is an expected percentage. i then switched back to the other site and the results continued as follows - 16 coin flips and i won 2. I then played on Blue Square and was in 19 coin flips and won 12 - expected percentage again.

I once again, switched to 'villian' site and have so far lost 6 coin flips in a row (including being al in with 77 against AJ and AJ!)

It seems absolutley clear that my bad run of variance is restricted to only one pokersite. How is this possible? I am confident playing on Blonde, Cake and DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/), but put me on the other poker site and if im in a coin flip situation, it is near on impossible to win

Very odd how its only on one poker site! - not playing on there anymore and hoping to keep the whole 'poker is rigged' conspircys and theorys away from me - i dont wanna belive in them conspirocys but this is very odd - hmmmmm

Why would pokerstars rig their software against you?

Are you a known enemy of the Israeli state?

Variance

Ofc it might be an idea to stay away from said site, due to the fact that psychologically you seem to think it is cursed/rigged (delete as appropriate).

as i said in original post, i dont believe online poker is rigged, i just suggested that there is an outside possibility of a software glitch.

I think the whole of the UK trusted X Factor phone in competition until is was unearthed people were being ripped off. Then, over 12 huge TV shows admitted to ripping people off fron Dancing on Ice to Richard & Judy, even Blue Peter and many others.

I dont like my thinking going this way but big business dont always get it right.

This time last year, I posted elsewhere that there was an outside chance that programmers could fix it so they could see opponents hole cards and i got similar 'tooth fairy' reponses like the one above. Absolute Poker ring any bells

I 5 table at the moment, been stuck in a rut for months.

Every time I try 6 tabling I get a run like yours, so I go back to 5 tabling.

Winds me up no end.

Going back to the site and recording 2 flips out of 16 is not a large enough sample to even suggest the possibility of a glitch.

They rig it against me, I'm sure I can't be alone!

I'm 1/8th Israeli, that explains why my ROI% is better on Stars than Full Tilt, mystery solved.

Makes me laugh every time- its soo true though-sometimes you just feel like that...if you are that adamant that this site you are talking about is rigged why are you wasting your money on it-just play on the sites you think are 'fair'

It's just that I want to publish my 'six tabling is rigged' thesis, but I don't want to look silly.

I need to log another 9,920 races first.

Knowing my luck I'll probably end up winning half of them, and my hopes for exposing the truth will be dashed.

fml ::)

Are you calling an all in with 7 7 or are you being called by AJ ?

Are you short stacked or do you have lots of chips?

Just interested.

fml i think live poker is rigged

after calling an all in reraise on sunday with A8o the guy rivers a 9 to match his K9
then tonight calling an all in open raise with my A8 i find the guys J9o makes a straight
then to make matters worse i called a EP early raise with my 33 in bb and on a TT6 flop check raised the guy whom i was sure was on a big ace he insta called with KK and i went busto

live poker is rigged those 3 hands prove it

Stick to Blue Sq, you obviously run good on there winning 12/19.
