THE POKER SHOW LAUNCHES LIVE ONLINE IN APRIL! Matchroom Sport, the world’s leading producers and distributors of televised poker, are delighted to announce the launch of the UK’s first LIVE online poker radio show, in association with Boylepoker.com The Poker Show will be broadcast online three days a week from 8pm until 11pm, on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays at www.thepokershowlive.com. From commenting on online games to debating the issues that are hot in the poker world, the Poker Show Live will cover it all. The show is completely interactive, with players able to ring in and air their views and some of the biggest names in poker lined up as guests and contributors. With such a variety of content to cram in, only one man could front the show – the Voice of Poker, Jesse May. The legendary TV commentator and poker nut will be joined by Irish poker legend Padraig Parkinson and Matt Broughton, co-presenter of Sky Poker’s The Club. “The Poker Show will be the soundtrack to your online poker evening,” said May. “We want every poker rookie, junkie, sicko and nut to tune in, and we don’t just want you to listen to us – we want to listen to you! This is no podcast; it’s live and it’s interactive – all call-in, all the time. We’ll be watching, gossiping and sweating everything that’s going on in the poker world.” Matchroom Sport has been at the forefront of poker production since the Poker Million began in 2000 and has recently launched series such as Premier League Poker and Poker Den: The Big Game “As the industry continues to grow, so too does the need to explore new mediums,” explained Managing Director Eddie Hearn. “The Poker Show is a ground-breaking new genre that will give the poker community a voice and a chance to be heard. We have lined up the biggest names in the game to be a part of the show and expect the phone lines to be jammed!” The Poker Show sponsors Boylepoker.com have been involved since conception and will be running online tournaments and promotions in conjunction with the programme. The Boylepoker.com card room will also feature a Poker Show link on all tables. “Boylepoker are delighted to be involved in such an exciting new departure for online poker,” commented Paul Spillane, Head of Poker at Boylepoker.com. “The Poker Show will provide online poker players with the perfect opportunity, to listen to the latest poker gossip and discuss the evolving world of online poker. We are very excited about the imminent launch of The Poker Show.” ENDS Title: Re: The Poker Show goes live this Sunday Post by: EddieHearn on April 21, 2009, 12:10:41 PM We would love to have as many of you on the show as possible to chat with Jesse and Padraig. Matchroom Sport, snipped, are delighted to announce the launch of the UK’s first LIVE online poker radio show, I love it when people rewrite history and try to tell me I must have imagined the live online radio coverage of the DT (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/)D (http://www.dusktilldawnpoker.com/) £300 that I listened to 10 days ago. ;busted; It's as naughty as your old man trying to invent intellectual property in membership of the Football League. I thought the "PokerTourRadio" thing from DTD (not by DTD by the way) was not Live - it was every 15 minutes or so. No? No? It was live for the last one. There were some early technical issues on the Saturday but once they were resolved they were live the whole way through (apart from taking breaks in the breaks). May gets excited over the smallest triviality, laughs at his own poor jokes and draws terrible analogies, whilst Parkinson is just a walking bad one liner! Remember that TV show they tried to do on a terrible set?! The only difference here will be we don't have to start at two terrible haircuts whilst cringing at their waffle! If you are referring to their Vegas shows from 2007, I thought they were funny. Each to their own! Title: Re: The Poker Show goes live this Sunday Post by: dino1980 on April 27, 2009, 04:26:30 PM I listened last night and will continue too. Yes Padraig tells a lot of stories from the old days, but they're mostly class, the ones about Dan (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=822) Harrington (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=822) and Kathy (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=623) Liebert (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=623) last night were top drawer and something you'd never get in any other envirnonment. I for one love hearing about the pre-poker boom days although sigh at how soft Harrington said the games were back then. And the mix of gets was well judged although who let that RJT fella on the air :) Flushy, you came across well (ditto in WPT this month btw).
It was their first show, things will improve techinical hitches will be nullified, and it beats watching some mindless drivel on the idiot box imo. If i was to suggest an improvement it might be worth getting a resident online 'expert' or at least someone really in touch with the online scene as a regular call-in guest or something, basically going through what's happening on the forums/online poker. Jesse actually surprised me with his knowledge of the poker forums and what not. Title: Re: The Poker Show goes live this Sunday Post by: Royal Flush on April 27, 2009, 05:17:14 PM Thought i might come across a bit distant was i was 8 tabling whilst on the phone, lol
