Title: 10 10 in Warm-up Post by: Ricardov83 on May 03, 2009, 08:15:52 PM Ok so i have been at the table for a while playing very tight. Not been involved in a pot for quite some time. The pre-flop raiser had not played many hands and seemed TAG.
I decided to flat pre and play the hand as a small pair for set value. I'm pretty sure i made a few mistakes throughout the streets but any advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't post much on hand analysis so if I've missed any info please ask. I'll post a street at a time. and never fold Title: Re: 10 10 in Warm-up Post by: noble1 on May 04, 2009, 07:20:12 PM tough hand to play oop multi-way in a raised pot... i prefer to play pockets like this in position if i'm calling a raise and i'm looking for some juicy implied odds so even if i were on the button for me this is a pretty marginal smooth call in this scenario.
3 betting with this stack size to blinds is only a option if i think the raiser is doing so light and that the caller has wide range as he could quite easily smooth a big pair hoping for a squeeze behind - it all depends on how your table has been playing.. As you have a tight image and have been at the table for a while if i think the villains are capable of raising and smoothing light i might consider a 3bet from the sb but i'd hope for 3 folds if 1 caller then it all depends on reads and texture of flop if they 4bet then its a spewy fold something i don't like doing around this stack size but heyho we now have an all in resteal stack.:) If villains ranges here are tight then i fold pre personally given position... as played - "use your judgment'' knowledge of our opponent's play should tell us whether to continue with the hand so i'd check and see what action unfolds between the other three..i'm in no rush here to spew a 30bb+ stack... One piece of advice i got once was If you aren't willing to modify your style of play according to the situation/opponents, you can go broke with tens (or any other hand for that matter ;D) very easily. hope this gives you a different angle to think about this scenario.. regards noble Title: Re: 10 10 in Warm-up Post by: Royal Flush on May 04, 2009, 09:02:31 PM Check with your left hand, jam with your right.

At best your up against Ace with King or Queen of hearts kicker or a badly played 55 44 by that i mean if he had any of these and was putting you on a hand he has to think he has you beat,so i keep coming back to a made flush KQ KJ hh theres also a slim outside chance that he has AA.. If you read him as bad then get your chips in , if you think he is a solid str8 forward type it is either fold or call [good odds] and hope to bink a paired board on the river then lead out Title: Re: 10 10 in Warm-up Post by: Ricardov83 on May 05, 2009, 10:56:28 PM Thanks noble. Those were my thoughts exactly as i couldn't come up with any hand he could check flop with then raise turn so I decided on nut flush.
The odds were too good to fold so i flatted hoping to fill up on river. The 4th heart came on river and i check folded. Thanks for your help. Still think I muffed it somehow but I ain't sure how exactly yet!
