Title: Vegas advice needed....
Post by: LPM Champ on May 05, 2009, 01:11:29 AM
Hi anyone who can help,

I have won a ticket to the main event on FTP.

Got to book own flights accomodation.

Can anyone recommand a hotel. Don't really want to send a fortune, but not a cheap dive ever.

Many thanks

John

have a look at the Platinum

1000 sq ft suites for around $125-150 a night with no big markup at weekends

10 mins walk to Ballys etc, less than it takes from your room in Bellagio

I got a great poker rate at the MGM Grand - has great pool with lazy river ... they were also very helpful with the wire transfer of funds bearing in mind alot of it wasnt being spent in their casino.

Do FTP buy qualifiers in direct?

No.

There was a thread in the 2p2 MTT community about how Stars and Tilt were getting round this. I cant find it but from what I remember, Tilt give you $2k now and $10k 4 weeks beforehand if you say you are going to play the ME, and I think (not 100% sure) that they give you $12k in t$ if you say you're not.

Just got back.  Stayed at the Gold Coast.  Right next to the Rio, although probably half a mile walk to the WSOP card room.  Half the price of a Strip hotel, newly renovated, as places to dump your bags go you can't beat it.  Not much action in the poker room, but I'm sure that would change during the WSOP.
