2. c

4. c

8.  doesn't make sense?

10. d

11. a

15. d

-----

They are probably just guesses, as I was never taught this sort of thing at school, and only learnt what a relative clause was when I was at uni studying a foreign language.  Be interesting to see if they are anything like the answers you have (they're probably way off).

(also, they're crap RSQ questions, please never be QM)

Yikes.

I think the first two are both c ('who', being a relative pronoun, is the clue in the first one, and the second one is a verb phrase) but I have no idea about the rest, especially 8, as you copied it out wrong.

I agree with mr t and nitboshi on the first 2 being c and 8 making no sense. no idea on the later ones though

Although it's a cut n paste job, I'm pretty sure 8 is nonsense. No idea, prob a typo from source.

Thanks for the help guys. Pretty sure I did enough to pass today.

I don't understand why I love words but hate linguistics. Guess I just like to keep the science out of the art, it's like pulling teeth or analyzing comedy.

It troubles me that someone qualified to set questions on the subject of syntax should make the questions so difficult to read.
