This year the French Open is porbably the most open its been and there are some good prices around.

Its still a major and so I doubt a young girl will come through to win as the Grand Slams still tend to produce some expierenced winners.

The one on the tour at the moment that is fire is Svetlana Kuznetsova and is somehow available at 9/1 with Centrebet despote being best price 6/1.

She won on clay last week and is in the final of this weeks tournament as well and is hitting the ball well.   She has a lot of experience on clay and more importantly has not only the ability but the confidence to change her game half way through a match if she needs to.

Looking at her opposistion: -

Serena - Its her worst surface and will struggle through every round

Venus - Never done well at the French with only one final appearance but is playing well - probably biggest rival

Safina - Grand Slam Choke artist and not a great mover on clay

Ivanovic - Really struggling with injuries and her game at moment

Jankovic - Never really a contender, always seem to be undone by the top 4 at every tournament.

She certainly wont be 9/1 at the start of the tourney.

You must have heard the same rumours about what goes on in the ladies' locker room as I have.

I would definetly be interested in taking the 8s with Coral. I would go WIN rather than EW tho.

Coral & Laddies are my only clean accounts. I know its only a matter of time with Corals tho.

Coral shut my account after only one bet of £500 on a 6/4 loser!

Laddies told me that I could only have SP after I won about £400 on two horses which shortened.

last time i tried to bet with coral i was offered £7.50 e/w on 4/1 shot, they should grow a pair.

Ask anyone and they will be barred from some place and restricted elsewhere due to certain things.
Whole industry needs one bookie to stand by their prices and the rest will all follow suit or go out of business.

Why would the big bookies refuse to take bets from punters online and on the phone, but take on unknown punters for lumps in cash at the shops?

Surely if you know a guy is a winning punter you would want to know what he wants to back and alter your book accordingly.

Times must have changed then, when I was a manager for Coral, I used to take carrier bags full of cash from punters.

Of all the shops I had, the one in Amersham was the best ... they are all minted there, I took some staggering bets !


Dunstable was good whenever Kerry Dixon came in, I dont think he ever had a winning day ... used to do his bollocks at least 3 days a week.

Big bookies should be using exchanges to alter unbalanced books if they only want to win their margins rather than take on a favourite or 2.

Safina comprehensively beat Kuznetsaova in the Itallianopen final yesterday...

Its a much quicker clay than at the French.  The temp is generally hotter and is watered more so the clay sticks more and becomes less broken up.  This quickens the court and is better for Safina's game.

Safina has grown up on clay when she was in her teenage tennis camp and is starting to look good after a shaky start on the clay.

It will be between Kuznetsova and Safina for me and seeing as you can get 6/1 on both of them, that will be my bets for the women.

It is difficult to see any woman's tennis bet as printing money - one of the most unpredictable sports around.  Though she does seem to be in impressive form at the moment.

Yeah, since she has become world number one she seems to have this understanding what of what it takes to get it done even when not playing well.

Whether she can get rid of thegrand slam monkey is a different matter, but lets hope so.

First set he won every service point, and then lost the tie-break to Haas.

Break point against him, meaning that Haas would be serving for the match in the next game and somehow Federer wins the game and then breaks Haas.  He's now serving for the 3rd set.

against Safina I think her price will be roughly 2.6, but if she makes the final you do freeroll on Safina not making it.

There giving 10/3 on Laddies for Soderling. The man has looked so strong through the whole tournament (some say Nadal had an 'Off Day') He will definately be there to upset Federer's grand slam record party!! Sticking a fair amount on the swede to defeat Roger!

Looks a reasonable punt to me on Soderling at that price, but I won't be putting my money near it for emotional reasons.

Federer for the win all the way, the guy might well be the greatest player to ever play tennis and it would be a crying shame if he doesn't won the French at some point.
