Title: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: stribling on May 28, 2009, 04:23:16 PM I am curious as to what you guys think the best area of this gambling malarky is to turn £100 into £800 in a week. Is it best to study the horses for a week and try my luck at them, or is poker the obvious choice and hope the cards turn for you? I thought about betting big with the french open but this tennis is seeming a lot less predictable then I first thought....
penny for your thoughts! cheers! Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: AndrewT on May 28, 2009, 04:26:07 PM It depends on where your greatest edge lies?
Which area of gambling is generally your most profitable? Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: GreekStein on May 28, 2009, 04:27:03 PM doubt you can learn horses well enough in one week to 8x your investment. Even if you do there may be no good opportunities to bet on in that week and you'll likely go bust risking too much of your roll to get to your target.
Play a £100 freeze or spin spin spin on roulette if you don't care about losing the £100 either. Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: stribling on May 28, 2009, 05:05:01 PM I can hold my own on a poker table, but I struggle to keep concentration for 4 hours in a tournament. I was wondering if there was a sport which rarely has upsets but still gives profitable odds, I always saw Tennis as this, until both William sisters lost me a ton!!
I guess what im asking is what were all looking for, minimal risk, high profit.. Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: GreekStein on May 28, 2009, 05:08:16 PM Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: stribling on May 28, 2009, 05:12:18 PM your crazy maaan!!
Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: boldie on May 28, 2009, 05:14:03 PM this. If you aren't already into horses and know how to read form and all that you'd rely on luck more than anything. Although horses can be good you would need to have no fear and just dump the entire hundred on one horse (no matter what it's odds are) and then go from there....but you have to know what you're doing, really. Footie can be quite good but the season is over. PLO spin up is definitely not low risk but a possible. It's all gambling though if you do push a target like that..proper "spin up" gambling. There is no high reward, low risk way to go from 100 to 800..or everyone would be doing it. Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: kukushkin88 on May 28, 2009, 05:16:42 PM This is funny. I reckon Patkai/Conduit double at Sandown tonight. The other option if you can wait a while is lay the draw in all the Ashes test matches.
Were you on Desert Creek, Herrera and Jimmy Styles last weekend? Follow the horse tips on here to sensible level stakes and you'll make money. Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: stribling on May 28, 2009, 05:28:15 PM Desert creek pulled me in a nice little earner.... £500 would do as well, basically theres a holiday going on which is £320 for all inclusive, I probably was a bit optimistic with £800 but If I can earn this in a week then I can get away!
Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: Suited_Jock on May 28, 2009, 05:33:32 PM I've got an absolute certainty in the 3:15 at Chepstow
Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: kukushkin88 on May 28, 2009, 05:36:35 PM The answer is as Cos says, get a job so you won't find yourself in this position. Failing that and with time being of the essence, shortstacking 2/4 PLO would appear to be ftw, there's gotta be worse ways to spend you spend your last hundo.
Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: stribling on May 28, 2009, 07:17:53 PM Im on Patkai and conduit for an e/w double.... Patkai just taken 2nd, now Conduit to place, yes please!

Patkai just taken 2nd, now Conduit to place, yes please! won't actually make you a profit though, will it? It's a money back sort of bet, no? Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: boldie on May 28, 2009, 07:38:22 PM BTW when betting on horses or Greyhounds or anything like that; Just because you want to make 400-700 pounds in one week, doesn't mean you have to bet on day one. The best way to do it is seriously pick your spot during the week, find something that could do the business for you and lump it all on. Don't try to have 5 or 6 bets in one week because you're much more likely to end of bust.
Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: scotty2hatty on May 28, 2009, 07:53:00 PM Having too many bets is a massive problem for me, and most gamblers, as it's in our instinct to bet on anything that moves. As boldie says, you need restraint and picking bets is key - even if it means limiting yourself to only a handful of bets a week max.

Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: boldie on May 28, 2009, 07:57:18 PM Jesus, Tom segal does it again...tips up Cima De Triumph at 14-1 this morning...wins at 4-1. That man is just ridiculously good.
[ ] I was on as I could see it winning myself [ ] I love watching the racing as much as I used to now that I only have a bet occasionally (I still watch them all) [X] I am much happier now that I only have a bet on the horses when I really fancy them. [X] I am much more profitable. [X] I hate Tom segal [X] I want to be his bestest friend Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... I normally start off okay, but then end up betting on 4 or 5 tennis matches in a day for the hell of it. I have used some poker winnings to start a new staking plan, and am determined to limit the number of bets i have. In the 2 weeks it has been going i have placed only 6 bets and 2 of those are long term on next season's football. I have even managed to keep away from all individual matches in the tennis. 1. I really hope i can keep this discipline going 2. I really hope it will be more profitable in the long run than most of my staking plans! And as Boldie said - if it was easy to turn £100 into £800 in a weekend then everyone would be doing it. Title: Re: £100 to £800 in a week.... Post by: Matt50 on May 29, 2009, 01:56:53 PM 2 of those are long term on next season's football. Don't be shy... ;whistle; Hull and Stoke to get relegated. Hull at 6/4 and Stoke at 3/1 (on betfair) Hull should have gone this season, only for a couple of freak away wins and the rest of the teams at the bottom being so bad in the run-in. Stoke could well suffer the 2nd season syndrome and a lot of teams will work out how to play them better. |
