Title: Selling a domain direct to customer...help Post by: Tractor on June 15, 2009, 07:08:47 PM Ive sold a couple of domains through Sedo at auction and all went well, obv they take a comission etc.
Well, i have someone contact me direct and have offered a good price on a domain i have. They want to send me the money direct to save costs etc. Is there any way i can make this legit before i transfer the domain across? Any other options that anyone knows of? Cheers Title: Re: Selling a domain direct to customer...help Post by: kinboshi on June 15, 2009, 07:47:06 PM You have a number of options.
If you don't know or trust each other, you can have the money held in escrow to protect both parties. There's obviously a cost for this service. Otherwise, they could transfer the money to you and then you transfer the domain over. That way they have to trust you - but they at least have an idea of who you are. Depends how much the domain's worth obviously. Title: Re: Selling a domain direct to customer...help Post by: Tractor on June 15, 2009, 09:52:06 PM You have a number of options. Depends how much the domain's worth obviously. He has offered £750, not a great deal but an amount im happy to sell for. Say he Paypal, Moneybooker me the money, then i transfer the domain, can they then dispute easily and get there money back? Any ideas on the safety of the money transfer would be much apprecitaed. Also worth noting, this isnt a person i know and have just had contact via email so far. They'll have to trust you, but otherwise you'll have to use a third party. What sort of commission to Sedo charge?

I sold a phone on ebay some while ago and had a 'paid' email just before I was asked to post the phone to Nigeria..... |
