if it's a different water provider they may use different chemicals etc in the water.  When I moved to Ruislip the water tasted a bit chlorinated.  I use a water filter, and that takes most of the chemical taste away.  Might be worth asking the neighbours - if their water is ok could be something to do with your pipes maybe?

Same provider but will ask the neighbour at some point, although I tend not to chat really, the next semi up is locally known as Mad Mary she looks it too, every time I go out the side door she is there over the fence, I just think ..don't look into the eyes she may cast a spell or something, avoided all attempted talk so far, I am pretending I am deaf so that I don't have to get into arguments with here lol.

Call to your local water company would normally get the answer you require, sometimes its down to a breakdown in the system somewhere and re chlorination somewhere,if unsure just boil the water 1st then keep it in the fridge,

did you know that hot water freezes quicker than cold?

Mr Water tester Man arrived and smelt my waters today, he confirmed that I am not imagining it, my water officially stinks. He reckons it is due to having a dishwasher next to the sink, he is sending us out some sort of one way valve thingy majig that we need to put in some pipe or other, common problem apparently. He has also took some samples just in case but says he is more or less confident that it is the dishwasher causing it. Yuk.. bottled water from now on until valve arrives, he said no need but me thinks there is lol.

Thing is we have only used it twice since we moved in.

try turning the valve to the dishwasher off and run the taps for 5-10Min's to flush it out see if that works but the valve itself

fits between the valve and hose of the dishwasher,it stops contaminated water back syphoning into your mains water supply.

it'll take 2 Min's to fit at most,

do it after you've milked the cows but before making Darren's breakfast.

Behave, Darren is not the most handiest of men around the home, to say the least and he will be first to admit it, therefor 2 hours is more likely.
