Wednesday JULY 8th @ 8.30pm on blondepoker we will run a $2 NLHE Freezeout, the winner will get a seat in the main event.

ok, first off a big thank you to the London Poker Circuit for the seat into their £750 Main Event in July, and Kev has posted above the comp where the winner gets the seat

There follows some information on the event and the tour

The London Poker Circuit (LPC) will be hosting a brand new schedule from July incorporating two new series of deep stack NLHE poker events in their plush Hotels.

Firstly, the "Super Stack Series" (first event 25th July) will involve the £300 double chance freezeout (7000 stack, 30 minute blinds) on the Friday night and a £750 main event (20000 stack, 1 hour blinds) on the Saturday afternoon. Secondly the five star Westbury Hotel in Mayfair will be hosting the fortnightly "Mayfair Maul" on Friday nights with a £250 buy in, 5000 stack and 30 minute blinds. £200 will go the prize pool and £50 per knockout.

Full details can be found at www.londonpokercircuit.co.uk and you can qualify through their website (via 888.com) in their weekly satellites. Cash, Satellites and single table tournaments will also be available.

London Poker Circuit to Relaunch

The players who attended the events were very impressed with how well they were managed and structured, but it wasn't getting the seats filled. The tour has now announced they will be redesigning its schedule from July following player feedback.

The new schedule will incorporate two new deep stack events in the Cola chain of hotels in London. There will be a monthly Super Stack Series which will include a £300 double chance event on Fridays and a £750 main event on Saturday with a whopping 20,000 stack and 1 hour blinds. Secondly the Westbury Hotel in Mayfair will host a fortnightly Mayfair Maul on Fridays with a £250 bounty tournament, with £50 of the buy-in being the bounty. Satellites for the events will still be on 888 Poker.

The first Mayfair Maul will be on Friday 17th July and the first of the Super Stack Series will be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 24th, 25th and 26th July

I am intrigued as to how it has suddenly become legal to run poker tournaments in hotels in the UK.

I always thought that the laws regarding poker were totally different in Ireland and that's why it worked there

Anyone with a Gambling Commission issued Casino Operating licence can run equal chance gaming under Temporary Use Notices (TUNS) for example a poker tournament in a Hotel, however to a maximum of 21 days per premises. The LPC is operated by The Ultimate Poker Tour who has the necessary Operating Licence and the tournaments are in conjunction with Cola Hotels across their properties in London. The Gambling Commission have attended our events and are satisfied with the professional set up and compliance in place.

You obviously have no conception of the amount of luggage needed for a 1 night stay.....I couldn't possible walk up with all that! Different outfits for different levels, choice of night attire....., 3 pairs of shoes/several coats and cardies depending on weather and then there is the hair gel,mouse etc etc plus the Viallage had a pool so all the swim gear.

I think perhaps the AOL customers have given up complaining because they are getting no results. I know LOADS of players who simply can not connect to ipoker at all.

This is a bit strange, I have not been able to get on to Hills for ages, when I rang them up they asked if i was with orange( and I am) they said orange customers were having a problem logging on. I tried again the other day on my laptop and I could get on but when I tried on my desktop it wont let me.  so I am not so sure the problem is with AOL

I am with BT and have a very iffy connection but at least i can connect....eventually.
