Title: 9 month`s old pup`s
Post by: vinni on June 26, 2009, 11:50:33 AM
I have a chance to purchase 2 nine month`s old pup`s ,i was wondering if any of you lot was interested in buying these with me.
i would have want some one to be the treasurer ,and collect all the money`s in .
please pm me if your interested in being the treasurer .

the dog and bitch would only cost 2100 sterling ,i wanted to sell them at 100 per share ,meaning there would be 21 owners .
obviously there would be schooling costs and kenneling ,that would work out at about 8 pound a month per owner ,after schooling which is about 5 pounds a member per month .

please no sarcastic remarks guys ,as we could have a lot of fun with these .

How would it work Barry?

If you are selling 21 shares of £100 for 2 dogs that cost £2100 what would your share be?

Perhaps you should post a little more information Barry, such as breeding.

it would work as 21 equal owners ,all have a say as where and when the dog run`s .
Perhaps you should post a little more information Barry, such as breeding.

i  will post the breading when i see him in the morning ,i know the mother was top grade on sheffield ,and was still a pup when she broke here leg.

Are you buying some of the shares yourself?  Who's looking after them until they are old enough to go to the kennels or do they go straight away?  What happens to them after their racing days are over?

yes i would be buying 1 share same as every one ,so everyone has the same say .
atm there in Linda Stevenson's farm ,he would school them until ready for racing ,then its up to us where they run ,depending what there best distance is .

when they have finished racing i would do exactly as i have done with my other dogs ,put them up for adoption ,to find a home .
i hate it when i here that this or that dog has finished racing ,we had him put to sleep .
i`m to much of a dog lover to let this happen .(i have 5 Labrador's) .

so 1 share would be in both dogs right?

Title: Re: 9 month`s old pup`s
Post by: vinni on June 26, 2009, 02:04:46 PM
yep ,they would cost a total of 2100 pounds for both pup`s .
that's 21 shares at 100 .
i would also keep every one informed how they are progressing .
plus anyone who is a share holder would get the trainers number to ask any query`s.

Barry's asked me about being the Treasurer for this and I cant see that being a problem.

I would also be interested in having a share or two as Im a complete degen who would love to own a greyhound, then a horse, then a F1 driver, then a brothel.

But in seriousness if people are interested could be good fun, all meeting up at the races to cheer them on.

And maybe, just maybe, get completely ball bagged off our faces.

How long does a dog race for?

I'm interested, but know nothing about dogs, but if there's plenty of interest, I'm happy to take one I think.....unless I persude myself otherwise in the mean time :D

some dogs (bitch`s ) run up to 6 years old but that is very rare .

as i said in an earlier post it will work out at about 8 pound a month per share ,that's for the kennel bill`s and training ,there is no entry fees.

I take it the kennels train them too?  Is that all it is, about £8 per month for them to be looked after?

Are there any other costs to take in to account?  Vets bills?

How come no entry fees? Are all dog races free to enter or are we aiming at the lower league stuff only?

the kennals train them ,if you work it out theres 2 dogs to look after ,with 21 owners at 8 each that works out at around the 170 mark ,you get paid to run your dog at any track,so some months it wont cost a penny we`ll probably be in pofit .
we will have to foot the vet bills ,unless theres an operation ,it will be minimal.
as they are pups these could be anything ,derby dogs graders ,who knows .

I am really interested in this but am slightly concerned about a couple of things regarding the running of this, 21 people each with equal say could make decision making difficult on a forum, are we pretty much going to pay up and leave it to the trainers?

personally I think once the 100quid for buying it is sorted we should set up some kind of kitty that we all bob £100 each in or so to cover the dogs costs etc, paying in 10er a month would be a nightmare etc.

this is is all stuff that can be sorted later but I think if a proper plan was put in place we would get more interest.

i cant agree more ,but once they start running we probably wont have any kennel bills ,they get money just for running .
the only bill we will have is when the bitch goes in to season .

Fair enough, all I would say is it's clear you know what would be happening as you obviously have a great deal of knowledge about the set up.  I dont and most other blondes dont either so things that are obvious to you arent to other people so if at some point we could clear a few things up or put together a proposal that includes quite basic things about how often they would race, what happens when the bitch is in season etc etc that would be great and I think would create more interest.

OK here goes ,on how often they run is down to a few things ,firstly if one of the pups or both are open class (top of the tree ) they would not be running that much early doors as the trainer would be picking races out of the calender for them .
if they are graders and have to work there way up the ladder ,it would be down to the handicapper ,he would put them in to there appropriate grades when they have a race of there grades .

when they bitch comes into season they are usually of the track for about 10 weeks ,then they have to have there regrading trials ,afterr 16 weeks the bitch should be just coming back to fitness ,after coming out of milk .
i hope this clears a few things up for a few of you .
also if we put it in with a trainer who will do a job we will get a few wins out of them ,were we have plenty of money on .

the breading is as follows ;

HONDO BLACK / KARENS STAR GIRL .

he had to a few dogs with the prefix name of star girl ,so i got that mixed up a bit sorry.
Jodie's star girl was a class sprinter ,Karen's star girl ran a total of ten races winning 6 times ,3 times in A1 ,she would have won her last race barring breaking down .
hondo black needs no introduction if you know anything about greyhound racing .he is a top sire .
if either of these pups are anything like there parents we should have a lot of fun.

the pups have been running about in a 2 acre field since the age of 3 months on a farm in scunthorpe,
it will cost 20 a month up to them being 12 months old .
then they go to the schooling tracks ,thats when our bills go up to 170 a month.at 15 months old they would be eligable to race.

Barry I have a suggestion for a dog name.

Mr Owumbafusu-Agdgdgwengo.

If you agree to this I would like another share in addition to my share that I will buy a share on the condition that Flushy, Tikay and Rookie also buy shares.

I also think Pedigree Chum is the best option as it will help make the dog very fast.

the breading is as follows ;

Can we dress the dog Mr Owumbafusu-Agdgdgwengo in designer Ed Hardy gear so that even if it turns out shit at racing it will look sooooooo much cooler than all the other dogs?

Just a thought

Right lets get this sorted or just fuck it off.
New proposal is 11 shares at £200, £2100 for the two dogs, £100 left over starts the pot for the kennel fees.

Starting a fresh list for confirmed share buyers as some people may not be happy investing an extra £100

1. Barry Neville
2. Chris Bruce
3. Stuart Hopkin
4. ACE2M
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10
11.

Bear in mind im gonna need the money pretty sharpish as I need to go to Sheffield to meet the owner with cash. I dont think he will take VISA.

Note to Cos: Barry was spitting feathers yesterday about your comments, he says your a little wind up merchant and he is going to bite your nose off. GG Cos.  ;hide;

Good job you didn't post his actual words - as I'd have to moderate the post and probably organise security for Cos.

OK it`s a bit obvious that this is`nt going to happen ,but i just spoke to terry in the market (he works owns a stall in the wholesale market in Sheffield it`s hard to catch him unless i`m up early.) over the last 3 weeks the pups have been taken for there first look at a track(schooling) ,after a couple of days watching other dogs going through there paces ,it was decided to give them a couple of hand slips ,they went round with out any fuss ,on the last week they decided to put them in the traps and see how things went ,understand this is a big gamble for pups so young (10 months),they all flew round the sprint trip off 250m .
top graders go round in around 13.40to 13.80.these pups went round in (ranging from)14.20 to 14.86,these are unreal runs for pups so young .
they will now be put away until they are about 13 months old ,when they will go back for a few months to be gotten  ready for there racing life.
