Kalooki 40 is what I play in Glasgow, I think the differences are in 40 you need 40 points to come down and in 51 you need 51 points but in 51 you can pick the discarded card last thrown without having to come down. In both online you can play the Ace as part of the low straight

Kalooki 40 - 40 points required to come down initially, you cant pick a card from the discard pile unless you use it in a meld. Kalooki 51 - 51 points to come down initially, you can pick the top card from the discard pile at any time without having to immediately play it. Both allow for Aces to be played as part of the low and high straight, in our local rules he only allow is as part of the high straight. That any clearer for you?
