Reading that I thought 'the only decent things it ever had was Bamboozle and Digitiser' and both those were mentioned in the first 4 comments.

I didn't realise anyone actually used teletext these days anyway - it died when it went digital and became ten times slower.

I remember watching football matches on teletext.  Kids today don't know how good they've got it...

I remember the excitement when we got a new telly which had the ability to show two pages of ceefax side by side - it meant I could have the whole of the league table on the screen at the same time.

Bamber Boozle was the dogs. Also remember watching the Indy 500 on there in Mansells rookie season. (sad knacker)

Aaaah I remember going round my mates on Saturday afternoon to watch the scores on teletext. It was so much more tense waiting for the pages to move round and then your tv would go on the blink, so there was a load of random characters where the Norwich score was meant to be.

Was a much bigger fan of the bbc equivalent and my favourite page 312, which was football news in brief.

"Total Network Solutions are giving a trial to 16 year old Dafydd Jones from Llandovery."

"Albion Rovers have a new third kit"

those WERE the days. 312. Great stuff

In the late 80s they used to do a live quiz thing on teletext every week - was that digitizer? (can't remember what it was called).  You'd tune in live at whatever time it was and questions would appear on the screen, then you'd phone in your answer, and your name and town would appear on the screen.  I won my choice of £50 cash or the top ten videos in that week's chart once :)up

bamboozle>>>>>>>>>>>>poker

watching penalty shootouts on teletext was very much ftw

weekday evening footy always used to be funny as they'd keep getting the scores wrong. you just knew that no-one wanted to stay late and do it so they left the work experience kid to handle it on his own

Digitiser was the video games section run by Mr Biffo. It occasionally contained some video game related content. It mainly involved irrelevent stuff tho, such as pressing reveal to see Mr T warn kids to stay away from his bins. Oh, and the Snakes too.

I had no idea that was possible, I've still to this day never seen it. are you sure you're not thinking of an episode of the jetsons?
