I have been caught up in discussions that have kept me away from the tournament area. They are now starting level 4, with blinds of 100-200. There are 98 players left from 113 starters. There is also a live webcam in the Unibet site. Its a fixed position camera for people come and vet their spleens at when they get knocked out but I don't think many of the players have done that so far. Instead, I will do the odd Harry Hill impersonation from time to time.

Less than 24 hours ago he was railing James at the Rio, then he jumped on a plane (probably literally) jetted over the Atlanticand negotiated is way through customs. He then hopped aboard the Heathrow Express (again probably literally) to Paddington, where he clambered aboard a taxi sped off to the Vic, dumped his suitcases in reception (literally) and clicmbed the stairs to the 2nd floor poker room where he bought in as an alternate. But his journey was not over as he then headed out of the Vic again, picking up suitcases en route and went home to shower, shit and shave (in no particular order) before making his way back to Vic to begin his tilt at the Unibet title. His name, quite literally and yes, you knew it had to be him, is Neil Channing. Well done that man. Now all he has to do is avoid an early exit.

I just saw two hands, one of which was a three way all in. It was A-J v A-J v Q-T. It came blank, blank, queen, queen queen to send two players out of the tournament. 2 minutes later Neil Channing busted with a king high straight against an ace high one. He was not too happy afterwards, not just because of the obvious reason that he had exited, but because a French player at the table had accused him of cheating after Bambos folded to a Channing reraise in which Mr Neil picked up just 800 chips. Simply call the Vic - 0207 262 7777 - ask for the 2nd floor cash desk and do the deed.

Dave Barnes is now one of the chip leaders after his AA held against a player who called his three bet all in shove with A-K. Vik Kanwar, who is on the same table had that quized look of disbelief on his face. Dave Colclough is fairly short stacked. Sam Trickett is doing well. Mo Muse, Robin Keston, Dave Clark, Bernard Litman, Alex Rousso, Josh Gould, Willie Tann and Bambos are all still in at this point.

The clock was stopped with 14 minutes left and Willie Tann was due to draw a card to determine the number of hands left, but he got eliminated on the last hand before the clock was paused. Instead, the player who eliminated him drew the card. Robin Keston is also out, having had his jacks busted by Q-something of hearts, which flushed up. Bernard Litman looks to be the chip leader now on just under 90,000. 31 players left.
