I am not sure of the maths behind it but they might have taken this into account and figured they would be unlucky to chop it 3 ways or more, so were just taking a very +ev spot in reality.

yeah this is what i thought, bit ul really.

what is really sick is that the other two winners did full perms also ::)

I wonder if you became aware of someone else planning on having the full perm also beforehand and got in touch with them, how would you go about dissuading them from the bet, clearly both wouldnt do it once they were aware, maybe have a sort of reverse bidding war to see who'll take an upfront cash sum not to do it?

Dubai did this at Romford a couple of months back, his crew were the only winners though.

Is this true?

If three syndicates did a full perm and they all lost money.. just what % of the stakes did the track keep?

lol no, was just thinking how sick it would be, it did interest me to think how the haggling would go if two parties that intended to do it met beforehand.

It's a fair cop you got me.

Still interested what percentage the track takes out from these rollover jackpot thingys.

Isn't it just the normal deduction that the nanny takes, 23/24% ?

Ive known them to take us much as 30%

i'm trying to work this out because i dont get it, how much has the nanny taken, does the 101k jackpot include the 47k invested if not it'd diabolicale what theyve taken out?

Greyhound tracks take far more usually.

101k was the rollover.

What about all the cash the regular punters put into the pool on the night too?

Jackpot was c£42,000 according to Barry last week, with a guesstimate that it would maybe make £57,000

£42,656 from unnamed couple makes £103,000 or so

3 way split was £33,703 indicating a pot of £101,109.

Seems more likely that the other two winners were more selective in their choice of dogs than that the deduction was 35%

yeah, for the sake of working out what % sheff took i estimated £12-13k?

so how much do we think the tote took then?

Is there a statutory max of 12%? That suggests a total pool of £114897 and a take of £13788

They can't tax the carried forward pool surely?

Only the new bets.

Ahhhh, in which case the figures look different, but I did find a link to a page that made reference to a statutory maximum of 12%

The couple took the remains of their bankroll home with them, and handled losing well. Clearly not Fergus DNA.

It was a 27% deduction from the tote placepots which seemed to be right if you calculated the result from the pool and the last result before tote made the annoucement.
