Im setting up a 5 a side team, ive recently moved back to west yorkshire so far we have 4/5 players but no keeper. Atm the team is me, chiprich, horneris and another m8 of mine whos just moved to leeds. As long as you have some gloves and are semi decent let us know. Were looking to get this going within the next week.

Making my footballing comeback 2 years later. Sooooooooo unfit, ready to get fit though, and wil feel much better for it

Was last game of the current season tonight, new season next week and we only lost 9-5, to third in the league this season. So not bad for a first game with new guys together.

P.S. Threw up 8 mins into first half. Battled back through it though, stil played horrible. Pretty dissapointed with myself tbh.

You'll feel better after a couple of weeks m8, i was in same boat when i decided to start playing again. (Poker makes u sooooo lazy!)

Not that bad considering it was our first game together, could have been better but not the end of the world.

Another win from the boys, still top of league, played 6 won 6. Today was probably our hardest game but the boys dug in and got a well deserved win.

Oh and Rich decided not to turn up cos he cant be arsed with this amateur shit.

We were shite today tho, first time i got proper pissed off at some players.

We won 8-6 but were losing 5-6 with 7 minutes to go. Another 3 points closer to the title tho.

And BH was immense at the back he absolutely cleaned their player out when he was through on goal! Id say he plays much like a right footed Neil Ruddock.

Sighh, we were shite today and lost 10-7, we went 6-3 up and just thought we'd won it, ffs.

They were v good though, even though league doesn't say they are. Think they've been missing a load of players and joined the league late or something.

Still, 9/10 wins aint bad. Just gota make sure we win the fker after all the hard work so far.

We won 7-5 today with a proper makeshift team, were now 6 points clear with 3 games to go.

Next 2 games are against 2nd and 3rd team tho so its not in the bag just yet.

We won the next league up. So were now going for our third championship/promotion on the trot!

This has now been done and we won the 3rd on trot last night. Unfortunately for Rich he got dropped at the start of the league for being being shit, BH left cos he was playing tennis on thursdays so its just really me. We have a really good team now, next season will be so much harder.

PS I asked Rich to play for me a game during the season when i was short a player he told me to fuck off cos he wasnt gonna play for me once id dropped him.

I got injured real badly in Feb, i thought it was a sprained/twisted ankle or something (the same thing BH had done the very week b4). This was not to be. I went to Hospital like 2 weeks after id done it when i realised it could be a lot worse, they just told me it was a sprained ankle. It sure as shit was, i was still fucked and couldnt play 3-4 months later....

I then started playing back for my Monday night team with all mates from school along with BH. So i was obv proper unfit after 3-4 months without a game, and my ankle was still kind of fked.

Im still playing with mates on a Monday, but after Ty knew i was back playing there, he never let me know about games or anything so yeah i guess i was dropped. But tbh i didnt bother finding out about the games either and ask if i can play because i stopped enjoying it long before then. It got too serious and although i take footy very seriously, when its mates, yeah you want to win, but not to the point im not enjoying it anymore.

Anyway, my ankles still not right even now, 6 months later. sigh. I guess its some sort of ankle ligament damage?

Still playing Footy and Tennis every week though, but i can feel it when i kick the ball sometimes in certains spots. No idea if anything can be done about it, i guess it just takes time to recover.

Yeah when we started it was just a game with a few mates cos id just moved back to the area. However as we progressed through the leagues it became apparent that i couldnt carry the whole team and i am way too competitive to continue it without bollocking the team/making changes. I suppose the first league was great cos the standard wasnt that good but everyone got a game etc.

Funnily enough the reason why this thread was started has led to me having the greatest 5 a side keeper i have ever seen. He just won my player of the league. Now his decided to fuck off back to russia for 3 weeks so i need a keeper again.

and rich if you actually decided and tried to get fit you wouldnt have been dropped.

Ligament damage should have healed by now. I've just done mine and it's mostly better after 2 weeks (in plaster because a&e thought it was broken).

When I did it last time I was told to stretch the ligaments as it heals (rotate the ankle) and stand on one foot a lot.

I'd go to the doctors and get it checked out though...

what you talking about clownshoes. I explained how i couldnt get fit, was because i was injured and couldnt do anything from Feb - May.

what a load of twaddle  - assuming all ankle ligament injuries are like yours

when i did mine i was on crutches for 6 weeks and wasnt right for 2 years, and it still bruised after any running for 4 years - this was after intensive physio after the injury

ChipRich - its expensive but id go see a good physio - try and get a referal from your GP to an NHS one. They will prob do something called "frictions" which will make you cry every week (i dont joke) - but it works in the long run
