Title: Re: kk meets resstants on a middling flop Post by: MC on July 27, 2009, 10:47:25 PM I think the 3bet is fine. Seeing as you're out of position and you don't want him to check back the turn as some kind of straight draw is fairly likely.
A set is plausible but lots of other stuff he could be raising on the button here. +99 & TT might have seen a 3bet pf. JQ & ATs just as likely really. Title: Re: kk meets resstants on a middling flop Post by: pleno1 on July 28, 2009, 02:25:16 AM he has 89s and sure doesnt get there.

Ninja Edit to delete spelling mistake, Ironside started this thread , that must be why! Title: Re: kk meets resstants on a middling flop Post by: outragous76 on July 28, 2009, 03:39:28 PM FIRST - have a plan! second - he shouldnt have 78o (as he is should smooth on that board and raise the turn) he could easily have 2 pr but you have the redraws Although it is a very coordinated board for 2prs etc - he is just a likely to have the str8 draws here - your read would need to be player dependant Make sure you 3 x pre antes - to stop the BB calling ATC (as you are usually raising genuine hands) I have no prob getting em in here - but he can easily have 2pr - so you have 5 cards on the turn and 8 on the river Just noticed this is a $5 game so he could also have JT AT JJ QQ KK AA (and the sets obv) Im def getting em in in a $5 game Title: Re: kk meets resstants on a middling flop Post by: BigArmo on July 29, 2009, 02:09:39 PM Stop 2.5xing it b4 the antes come in. ;iagree; 4x Iron stop messing about with the cowboys! Title: Re: kk meets resstants on a middling flop Post by: doubleup on July 29, 2009, 03:36:21 PM Early in a tournament you should be concentrating on value betting with your better hands (as stealing the blinds with mediocre holdings will not increase your stack very much) and reducing potential callers implied odds. Title: Re: kk meets resstants on a middling flop Post by: AlexMartin on July 30, 2009, 02:21:53 AM well, given its 3 to the flop, you priced in a load of tosh pre and the guy raising was a coldacaller on the button, on this shitty board im happy bet folding. Im not very happy about calling and re-evaluating out of position as the board is too coordinated and barring a 6 or a K i cant think of many ok/nice turn cards. I think getting it in fullring this deep on that flop w KK is dire. Ur absolutely crushed by his value range and his semibluffspew range (which i doubt he even has much of) is probably flipping with you anyway (Ts8s/10c9c etc).
