Post by: deepreacher on July 29, 2009, 11:50:29 PM
Just moved house and looking to upgrade my TV. Done some research but still no idea what is best. Im looking for 37-40inch TV, mainly for watcing sport and movies on sky (not HD), some gaming and possibly to connect laptop to.

Oh and budget is around £600.

Before I bought mine recently, I asked on here and on the avforum.

One thing I picked up is that plasma are better than LCD for movement (obviously important with sport), but LCDs perform better in bright light.

You say you don't need an HD telly, but wouldn't it make sense to get one that's at least HD ready, especially as you're going to be hooking it up to your laptop and you can get a lot of films and programmes on HD via the net?
